Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure your lawn mower is turned off and the spark plug wire is disconnected to prevent accidental starting.
Installing the Grass Bag Frame and Bag:
- Assemble the Frame: Unfold the metal grass bag frame. Ensure all joints are securely locked into place.
- Attach the Grass Bag: Slide the fabric grass bag over the assembled metal frame. The opening of the bag should align with the frame's opening. Secure the bag to the frame using the provided tie downs or integrated fasteners, ensuring a snug fit to prevent grass leakage.
- Install on Mower: Locate the grass bag attachment points at the rear of your lawn mower. Carefully lift the assembled grass bag and frame, aligning the frame's hooks or slots with the mower's attachment points. Push down firmly until the bag assembly is securely seated. Use the fixed cotter pins to further secure the bag to the mower if applicable.

Installing the Side Discharge Chute:
- Locate Discharge Opening: Identify the side discharge opening on your lawn mower deck. This is typically covered by a spring-loaded flap.
- Lift Flap: Carefully lift the spring-loaded discharge flap.
- Attach Chute: Insert the side discharge chute into the opening, ensuring the tabs or clips on the chute engage with the corresponding slots on the mower deck. The chute should fit snugly and direct clippings away from the mower.
- Secure Chute: Release the spring-loaded flap over the chute to hold it in place. Ensure it is firmly attached and will not dislodge during operation.
Operating Instructions
Once the grass bag or side discharge chute is installed, you can operate your lawn mower as usual. Always follow the safety guidelines provided in your lawn mower's original instruction manual.
Using the Grass Bag:
- The grass bag collects grass clippings as you mow, providing a clean finish and preventing clippings from scattering across your lawn.
- Monitor the grass bag during operation. When it becomes full, the mower's performance may decrease, and clippings may start to trail.
- To empty, turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug wire. Carefully remove the grass bag assembly from the mower. Empty the clippings into a compost pile or disposal bin.
- Reattach the empty grass bag assembly securely before resuming mowing.
Using the Side Discharge Chute:
- The side discharge chute directs grass clippings out from the side of the mower, distributing them evenly across the lawn. This is ideal for taller grass or when mulching is not desired.
- Ensure the area where clippings will be discharged is clear of people, pets, and obstacles.
- Do not operate the mower without the side discharge chute or the grass bag securely in place, as this exposes the rotating blade.
Maintenance and Care
Regular cleaning and inspection will extend the life of your grass bag and side discharge chute.
- Clean After Each Use: After each mowing session, remove the grass bag and side discharge chute. Shake out or brush off any accumulated grass clippings. For the grass bag, you can rinse it with water and allow it to air dry completely before storage to prevent mold and mildew.
- Inspect for Damage: Periodically inspect the grass bag fabric for tears or holes, and the frame for bends or breaks. Check the side discharge chute for cracks or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Storage: Store the grass bag and side discharge chute in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
