3. Setup and Charging

3.1. Initial Charging of the Cordless Drill

Before first use, fully charge the 8V cordless drill's internal battery. The drill is supplied with a Type-C 1.5A charging cable. You can use a universal charger or any USB output (5V d.c.) to charge the drill.

  • Locate the Type-C charging input port on the drill.
  • Connect the charging cable to the drill and a suitable power source.
  • The battery indicator light, located at the back of the drill, will illuminate to show charging status. Refer to the drill diagram for the exact location.
  • Allow the drill to charge until the indicator light signals a full charge (refer to drill's specific light behavior for full charge, typically solid green or off).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Using the 8V Cordless Drill

The cordless drill is designed for drilling in wood and plastic, and for tightening or loosening screws. Its maximum no-load speed is 800 revolutions per minute (r/min).

  • Inserting Bits: Twist the keyless chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck. Twist the chuck clockwise to securely tighten the bit.
  • Forward/Reverse: Use the forward/reverse switch (located above the control trigger) to select the rotation direction. Push left for forward (tightening screws, drilling), push right for reverse (loosening screws). Center position locks the trigger for safety.
  • Speed Control: The drill features variable speed control. Press the control trigger gently for lower speeds and increase pressure for higher speeds, up to 800 r/min.
  • LED Worklight: The integrated LED worklight illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit spaces.
  • Applications: The drill is suitable for screwing into wood, plastic, and soft metal materials, as well as general drilling tasks in wood and plastic. The maximum torque is 12 N.M.

4.2. Using Other Hand Tools

The kit includes a variety of hand tools for common tasks:

  • Screwdrivers & Precision Screwdrivers: Use for manual tightening or loosening of screws. Select the correct tip (Phillips, Slotted, etc.) for the screw head to prevent damage.
  • Claw Hammer: Primarily for driving nails and prying them out. Always wear safety glasses when hammering.
  • Adjustable Wrench: Used for gripping and turning nuts and bolts. Adjust the jaw opening to fit the fastener snugly.
  • Long Nose Pliers: Ideal for gripping small objects, bending wires, and reaching into tight spaces.
  • Utility Knife: For cutting various materials. Always extend the blade only as far as needed and retract it fully after use. Use caution as blades are extremely sharp. Replacement blades are included.
  • Measure Tape Ruler: For accurate measurements up to 3 meters.
  • Hex Keys & Sockets: For tightening or loosening hex-head fasteners.

5. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your DEKOPRO tool kit.

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down all tools with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. For stubborn grime, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Storage: Always store tools in their designated slots within the provided carrying case. This protects them from damage, keeps them organized, and prevents loss. Store the case in a dry environment to prevent rust and corrosion.
  • Drill Battery: For best battery life, avoid completely draining the drill's battery before recharging. Store the drill with a partial charge if it will not be used for an extended period.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a light coat of machine oil to moving parts of tools like pliers and the adjustable wrench to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect tools for any signs of wear, damage, or loose parts. Replace worn-out or damaged components immediately to ensure safety and effectiveness.
