3. Product Overview

The KVM switch features multiple ports for connecting your computers, monitors, and USB devices. Familiarize yourself with the port layout for proper setup.

Front Panel:

• 4 x USB 3.0 Ports: For connecting keyboard, mouse, USB drives, and other peripherals.
• Switch Button: Manually switch between PC1 and PC2.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your SGEYR HDMI KVM Switch:

1. Power Off Devices: Ensure both computers and monitors are powered off before making any connections.
2. Connect Monitors to KVM: Connect your two monitors to the HDMI OUT A and HDMI OUT B ports on the KVM switch using HDMI cables.
3. Connect Computer 1 to KVM:
   • Connect two HDMI cables from Computer 1 to the HDMI IN (PC1) ports (HDMI A and HDMI B) on the KVM switch.
   • Connect one USB 3.0 A-to-A cable from Computer 1 to the USB 3.0 IN (PC1) port on the KVM switch.
4. Connect Computer 2 to KVM:
   • Connect two HDMI cables from Computer 2 to the HDMI IN (PC2) ports (HDMI A and HDMI B) on the KVM switch.
   • Connect one USB 3.0 A-to-A cable from Computer 2 to the USB 3.0 IN (PC2) port on the KVM switch.
5. Connect USB Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB 3.0 devices (e.g., printer, U disk) to the 4 x USB 3.0 Ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
6. Connect Wired Remote (Optional): Plug the wired desktop controller into the dedicated port on the KVM switch.
7. Connect Power: Connect the DC 5V power supply line to the KVM switch and then to a power outlet.
8. Power On: Power on your monitors and then your computers.

Important Notes for Setup:

• Ensure each computer can support dual-screen display simultaneously. Test this by connecting your computer directly to two monitors before using the KVM switch.
• Each computer requires two HDMI cables and one USB-A cable connected to the KVM switch for proper functionality (keyboard, mouse, and dual monitors).
• The two monitors will display the video source from only one computer at a time; they cannot output signals from both PC1 and PC2 simultaneously.

5. Operating Instructions

The SGEYR HDMI KVM Switch offers two methods for switching between connected computers:

Button Switching:

Press the Switch Button located on the front panel of the KVM switch to toggle between PC1 and PC2. The corresponding LED indicator (PC1 or PC2) will illuminate to show the active computer.

Wired Desktop Controller Switching:

Use the included wired desktop controller to switch between PC1 and PC2. This allows you to place the KVM switch out of sight for a tidier desktop. Simply press the button on the controller to switch.

Note: This KVM switch does not support keyboard hotkey switching.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, please refer to the following common solutions:

• No Display on Monitors:
  • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected between computers, KVM, and monitors.
  • Verify that each computer is capable of dual-monitor output. Test by connecting monitors directly to the computer.
  • Confirm the KVM switch is powered on and the DC 5V power supply is connected.
  • Check that the resolution of your input devices and output devices are consistent and supported by the KVM switch (up to 4K@60Hz).
• Keyboard/Mouse Not Working:
  • Ensure the USB 3.0 A-to-A cables are correctly connected from both computers to the KVM switch.
  • Try switching the USB cables connected to the PC input ports on the KVM switch.
  • Ensure your keyboard and mouse are connected to the USB 3.0 ports on the KVM's front panel.
  • If using a wireless keyboard/mouse, ensure the receiver is plugged into one of the KVM's USB 3.0 ports.
• Difficulty Waking Computer from Sleep Mode:
  • This can sometimes occur with KVM switches. Adjust power management settings on your computer to prevent it from entering deep sleep states, or use the power button on the computer to wake it.
• USB Storage Device Performance Loss:
  • When connecting storage devices through the KVM, a slight performance reduction may be observed compared to direct connection. Always safely eject USB storage devices before switching computers to prevent data corruption.
• Only One Monitor Working:
  • Re-check all HDMI connections from both computers to the KVM and from the KVM to both monitors.
  • Verify that your computer's display settings are configured for extended or duplicate display across two monitors.
