This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your MD4.4 dosing pump.

4. Safety Information

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Mounting the Dosing Pump

The MD4.4 comes with a pump holder for secure installation. Choose a stable, dry location near your aquarium, ensuring easy access for tubing and power connections.

1. Attach the pump holder to a suitable surface using appropriate fasteners (not included).
2. Slide the MD4.4 dosing pump onto the holder until it is securely seated.

5.2 Connecting Tubing

Each of the four channels requires tubing for both solution intake and output. Ensure tubing is securely connected to prevent leaks.

1. Connect the intake tubing (typically from your solution containers) to the inlet ports of each pump head.
2. Connect the output tubing (leading to your aquarium or sump) to the outlet ports of each pump head.
3. Ensure all tubing connections are tight and free from kinks. The pump is designed for tubing with an outer diameter of 0.3 inches.

5.3 Power Connection

Connect the provided DC 12V power adapter to the dosing pump's power input port, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

Important: Ensure the power source matches the device's requirements (DC 12V).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Power On and Status Indicators

Once powered on, the status indicator lights will illuminate. Refer to the device's front panel for status indicators for each channel and overall device status.

6.2 Wi-Fi Connection and App Control

The MD4.4 dosing pump is controlled via a dedicated mobile application available for iOS and Android devices. A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network is required for connection.

1. Download the official Jecod/Jebao dosing pump application from your device's app store.
2. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The MD4.4 does not support 5GHz networks.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the dosing pump to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves putting the pump into "AP mode" (indicated by flashing red and green LEDs) and searching for the device within the app.
4. Once connected, you can program and monitor the pump remotely.

Note: Connectivity issues are often related to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure your phone is on a 2.4GHz network during setup. If your router broadcasts both, temporarily disable 5GHz or ensure your phone is explicitly connected to the 2.4GHz band.

6.3 Programming Dosing Schedules

The mobile application allows for precise control over each of the four channels.

• Volume: Set the desired dosing volume for each channel, ranging from 1ml to 9999ml per day.
• Frequency: Program up to 24 dosing times per day for each channel.
• Interval Dosing: The pump can be set to dose at intervals of up to 30 days, useful for less frequent supplement additions.
• Manual Control: The app also provides options for manual dosing to prime pumps or dispense solutions on demand.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning Pump Heads and Tubing

Regular cleaning helps maintain dosing accuracy and extends the lifespan of the pump.

1. Disconnect the power supply to the dosing pump.
2. Remove the tubing from the pump heads.
3. Rinse the tubing and pump heads with clean water to remove any residue. For stubborn deposits, a mild acid solution (like vinegar) followed by a thorough rinse can be used.
4. Inspect tubing for wear, kinks, or blockages. Replace if necessary.
5. Reassemble and reconnect the power.

Caution: Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials for cleaning, as this may damage the pump components.

The peristaltic tubes inside the pump heads are wear items and will eventually need replacement. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines or contact support for replacement parts and instructions.
