3. Setup: Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control (refer to Figure 2).
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or press the latch and lift to open.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note:

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the remote control will not be used for an extended period.

4. Operating Instructions

This remote control is designed to replicate the functions of your original Sony audio system remote. Point the remote directly at the infrared sensor on your audio system for optimal performance.

Basic Functions:

  • Power (I/O) Button: Press to turn the audio system on or off.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-).
    • Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the audio system's infrared sensor.

  • Some buttons do not work:
