1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Driver and Software Installation

  1. Insert the ProDENT Capture Software CD into your computer's CD drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the ProDENT Capture driver. This driver is essential for integrating the camera with your dental imaging software.
  3. During installation, select your specific dental imaging software (e.g., Dexis, Eaglesoft) from the provided list for optimal integration.
  4. If your software is not listed, contact ProDENT support for assistance in adding it to the support list.

3.2 Connecting the Camera

  1. Connect the USB cable to the ProDENT PD750 camera and then to an available USB port on your computer.
  2. The camera should be recognized automatically by your system after driver installation.

3.3 Applying Protective Sheaths

Before each use, always apply a disposable protective sheath (PDC-A01) over the camera head. This ensures hygiene and protects the camera lens.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Capturing Images

  1. Launch your dental imaging software.
  2. Select the ProDENT PD750 camera as the active imaging device within your software settings.
  3. Position the camera inside the patient's mouth to capture the desired area. The camera features auto-focus for clear imaging.
  4. Press one of the dual capture buttons located on either side of the camera handle to take a still image. The image will appear in your dental imaging software.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning and Sterilization

  • The ProDENT PD750 camera is not 100% waterproof. Always use protective sleeves (PDC-A01) during examinations.
  • After each use, remove and dispose of the protective sheath.
  • To clean the camera body, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not wipe the camera head with any liquid to protect the lens.
  • Do not immerse the camera in any liquid or use harsh chemical disinfectants directly on the lens or camera body.

5.2 Storage

Store the camera in its magnetic holder or a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Image Quality Issues

  • Blurry Images: Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from debris. The PD750 features an improved lens design to reduce blur, but proper positioning and cleanliness are still important.
  • Dark or Underexposed Images: Check the lighting conditions in the oral cavity. Ensure the camera's built-in LEDs are functioning.

6.2 Software Integration Problems

  • Camera Not Detected: Verify that the ProDENT Capture driver is correctly installed. Reinstall the driver if necessary.
  • Dexis Software Compatibility: If using Dexis, ensure your version is not 9.4.4 or 9.4.5, as these versions have known compatibility issues. Contact Dexis support to downgrade to 9.4.3 or upgrade to 9.4.8 or above.
  • Capture Button Not Working: Ensure the camera is properly selected within your dental imaging software. Restart the software and reconnect the camera.

6.3 General Issues

  • Camera Not Powering On: Check the USB connection to your computer. Ensure the USB port is functional.
