4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the thermometer.
  2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Unit Selection (°C/°F)

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):

  1. Remove the batteries from the compartment.
  2. Locate the C/F switch inside the battery compartment (or on the back panel, depending on the model).
  3. Toggle the switch to your desired temperature unit.
  4. Reinsert the batteries. The display will now show temperatures in the selected unit.

The thermometer offers two convenient placement methods:

  • Tabletop: Extend the integrated stand on the back of the unit to place it on any flat surface.
  • Wall-Mounted: Use the hanging holes on the back of the unit to mount it on a wall using a nail or screw (not included).

4.4 Probe Placement

The 2-meter wired probe is designed for outdoor or remote temperature measurement. Connect the probe to the designated port on the thermometer. Place the probe in the desired location for outdoor temperature monitoring, such as outside a window, in a greenhouse, or submerged in an aquarium. Ensure the main unit remains indoors and is not exposed to moisture, as it is not waterproof.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Reading the Display

The large LCD display shows both indoor and outdoor temperatures, along with their respective minimum and maximum records for the past 24 hours.

  • OUT Temperature (1, 8, 9): Displays the current outdoor temperature, along with its high (8) and low (9) records.
  • IN Temperature (3, 4, 5): Displays the current indoor temperature, along with its high (5) and low (4) records.
  • Min/Max Record (2, 7): The 'high' and 'low' indicators show the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded for the respective indoor/outdoor readings.
  • 24-Hour Auto Clear (6): The thermometer automatically clears and resets the min/max temperature records every 24 hours.

5.2 Temperature Measurement

Once batteries are installed and the probe is placed, the thermometer will immediately begin displaying current indoor and outdoor temperatures. The min/max records will update continuously throughout the day and reset automatically after 24 hours.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the thermometer unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water. The probe can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or stops functioning. Always use 2 new AAA batteries.
  • Storage: If storing the thermometer for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.
