1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Chaoouyue Motorcycle Trunk Light. This LED trunk light is designed to enhance the visibility and aesthetics of your Honda Gold Wing GL1800 Tour DCT motorcycle, models 2021-2024. It integrates running, turn signal, and brake light functions, with an optional strobe effect. This manual provides essential information for proper installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure safe and effective use of your new product.

• Always disconnect the motorcycle's battery before performing any electrical work.
• Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.
• Installation requires an additional 48000 Wire Harness (sold separately). Failure to use the specified 48000 Plug-N-Play installation kit will void all warranties on this accessory.

• Verify that the installed light functions correctly before operating the motorcycle.

5. Setup and Installation

Important: This product requires the 48000 Plug-N-Play installation kit for proper functionality and to maintain warranty. The 48000 harness is sold separately. One 48000 harness can support up to 4 light kits. If installing more than 4 kits, a 48001 "Y" splitter is required for each additional kit.

5.1 Preparation

• Ensure your motorcycle is turned off and the ignition key is removed.
• Disconnect the motorcycle's battery to prevent electrical hazards.
• Gather all necessary tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wire cutters/strippers if not using plug-n-play, electrical tape).
• Locate the installation area on your motorcycle's trunk.

5.2 Installation Steps

1. Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the area on the motorcycle trunk where the light will be mounted. Ensure it is free of dust, dirt, and grease.
2. Prepare the Light: The trunk light features 3M adhesive backing for secure attachment. Carefully peel off the protective film from the adhesive.

3. Mount the Light: Carefully align the trunk light with the desired position on your motorcycle's trunk. Press firmly to ensure the 3M adhesive adheres securely. Ensure the edges are flat and without warping.
4. Connect Wiring: Connect the wiring of the trunk light to the 48000 Plug-N-Play installation kit. Follow the instructions provided with the 48000 harness for specific connection points. Ensure all connections are tight and correct.
5. Secure Wiring: Route and secure any excess wiring to prevent it from interfering with moving parts or being damaged.
6. Test Functionality: Reconnect the motorcycle's battery. Turn on the ignition and test all light functions: running light, turn signals (left and right), and brake light. Verify the optional strobe effect if applicable.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed with the 48000 wire harness, the Chaoouyue Motorcycle Trunk Light will operate in conjunction with your motorcycle's existing lighting system:

• Running Light: The LED trunk light will illuminate steadily when your motorcycle's ignition is on and headlights are active, providing continuous rear visibility.
• Turn Signal: When the left or right turn signal is activated, the corresponding section of the trunk light will flash in sync with your motorcycle's turn signals.
• Brake Light: When the brake lever or pedal is engaged, the LED trunk light will illuminate brighter to indicate braking.
• Strobe Effect: An optional strobe effect may be available depending on the specific configuration of your 48000 wire harness. Refer to the 48000 harness manual for details on activating and controlling this feature.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean the light assembly periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the lens or housing.
• Inspection: Regularly inspect the light for any signs of damage, loose connections, or wear. Ensure the adhesive backing remains secure.
• Waterproof Rating: The product has an IP65 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. While designed for outdoor use, avoid directing high-pressure water sprays directly at the light for extended periods.
