Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your Fesley Electric Drum Set.

1. Frame Assembly

Carefully unpack all components. Begin by assembling the four-post metal rack system. Ensure all clamps are securely tightened to provide a stable foundation for the drum set.

2. Drum Pad and Cymbal Installation

Attach the 10" tom pads (x3) and the 12" snare drum to the rack. The snare drum includes its own stand for independent positioning. Install the 12" hi-hat, 12" crash, and 12" ride cymbals onto their respective stands and mounts. Ensure all pads and cymbals are positioned for comfortable playing.

3. Kick Drum and Pedal Setup

Position the full-sized 16.7" kick drum. Attach the kick pedal to the kick drum. Ensure the pedal is stable and the beater strikes the center of the mesh head for optimal response.

4. Drum Module and Cabling

Mount the sound module to the drum rack. Connect all drum pads, cymbals, and pedals to the module using the provided cable snake. Each cable is labeled to ensure correct connection. Plug in the power adapter to the module.

Operating Instructions

Drum Module Functions

The drum module features an intuitive interface with dedicated buttons and faders. Use the 'Volume' knob to adjust overall output. 'Tone' allows for sound shaping. 'Play' and 'Song' control playback of demo songs. 'Metro' activates the metronome. 'Menu' navigates settings, while 'Rec' and 'R.Play' manage recording functions. 'Save/Reset' allows saving custom kits or resetting settings.

Sound Selection and Customization

The module includes a comprehensive sound library with 40 preset kits, 5 user kits, 44 demo songs, and 187 drum sounds. Use the navigation buttons to browse and select different kits and sounds. The recording function allows capturing your ideas and beats.

Playing Features

• Mesh Drum Heads: The latest-generation mesh drum heads on the snare and toms provide a responsive and natural playing feel.
• Dual-Zone Pads: The snare and tom pads are dual-zone, allowing for different sounds depending on where they are struck (head or rim).
• Dual-Zone Cymbals: The 12'' ride, 12'' crash, and 12'' movable hi-hat cymbals are dual-zone, offering varied sounds (e.g., bell, bow, edge) and a realistic feel. They are designed to be quieter for practice sessions.
• Velocity Sensitivity: The pads and cymbals respond to playing dynamics, reproducing sounds appropriate for soft or hard strikes.

Connectivity

The drum module supports Bluetooth connectivity for playing along with external audio sources. It also features USB MIDI output, enabling connection to computers and music production software for expanded creative possibilities.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drum pads, cymbals, and module. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surfaces. For mesh heads, a slightly damp cloth can be used if necessary, ensuring they are completely dry afterward.

Storage

Store the drum set in a dry, temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disconnect all cables when not in use for extended periods.

Cable Care

Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the cables. Periodically check cables for any signs of wear or damage and replace them if necessary to maintain optimal performance.

Troubleshooting

• No Sound: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the module is turned on. Check all cable connections from pads/cymbals to the module. Verify the master volume and headphone/audio output levels.
• Pad/Cymbal Not Responding: Confirm the specific pad/cymbal cable is correctly plugged into the module. Check the module's pad settings for sensitivity and ensure the pad is enabled.
• Double Triggering or Missed Hits: This can often be resolved by adjusting the sensitivity settings for the specific pad or cymbal within the drum module. Refer to the module's menu for pad sensitivity adjustments. If using a double bass pedal, ensure beaters are positioned correctly and sensitivity is adjusted to register both strikes.
• Bluetooth Connection Issues: Ensure your external device is in pairing mode and within range of the drum module. Restart both devices and attempt to reconnect.
