4. Safety Information

5. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure the battery is fully charged or has sufficient charge for your application. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and gloves, when handling batteries.

5.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the battery from its packaging. Inspect the battery for any visible damage. If damage is observed, do not use the battery and contact customer support.

5.2 Connecting the Battery

  1. Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the battery. The positive terminal is typically marked with a red indicator or a plus sign, and the negative with a black indicator or a minus sign.
  2. Ensure your charger or device is turned off before making connections.
  3. Connect the positive cable from your charger/device to the positive terminal of the battery.
  4. Connect the negative cable from your charger/device to the negative terminal of the battery.
  5. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent arcing or poor performance.

5.3 Parallel Connection (for increased capacity)

The AOKLY ALFP-1206 battery can be connected in parallel to increase the overall capacity (Ah) while maintaining the same voltage (12.8V). Up to 4 pieces can be connected in parallel to achieve a total capacity of 24Ah and 307Wh.

IMPORTANT: This battery is designed for parallel connection ONLY. Do NOT connect batteries in series, as this can damage the battery and pose a safety risk.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Charging the Battery

Use a LiFePO4 compatible charger with the specified voltage and current ratings. The recommended charge current is 3.0A, with a maximum charge current of 6.0A. The charge voltage should be 14.4V.

  1. Connect the charger to the battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  2. Plug the charger into a power outlet.
  3. Monitor the charging process. The BMS will protect the battery from overcharging.
  4. Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged or when the charging indicator on your charger signals completion.

6.2 Discharging the Battery

The AOKLY LiFePO4 battery is a deep cycle battery, meaning it can be discharged significantly without damaging its lifespan. The integrated BMS will prevent over-discharge.

  • Connect the battery to your intended application (e.g., fish finder, UPS, kids' ride-on toy).
  • Ensure the load does not exceed the battery's maximum continuous discharge current (refer to specific application requirements).
  • The battery will provide stable power until its voltage drops to the BMS's low voltage cut-off point, at which point the BMS will disconnect the battery to protect it from over-discharge.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Storage

For long-term storage, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50-70% of its capacity. Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The self-discharge rate is very low (approx. 3% per month), but it is recommended to check the charge level every 3-6 months and recharge if necessary.

7.2 Cleaning

Keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the battery casing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
