2. Setup
Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Clean the water tank, portafilter, and filters with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
2.1 Initial Preparation
- Place the Machine: Position the espresso machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct sunlight.
- Fill the Water Tank: Remove the 1.8L (60.8 oz) removable water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold, filtered water up to the MAX line. Replace the tank securely.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Preheat: Turn on the machine by pressing the power button. The indicator lights for single and double shots will flash, indicating the machine is preheating. Wait until these lights stop flashing and remain solid, which signifies the machine has reached the optimal brewing temperature. This typically takes about 30 seconds due to the Thermoblock system.
- Prime the Pump (First Use): For the first use, or if the machine has not been used for a long time, it is recommended to prime the pump. Place a cup under the portafilter (without coffee) and press the single shot button. Let water run through for about 30 seconds to ensure the water system is filled and air is purged.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Making Espresso
- Prepare the Portafilter: Select the appropriate filter (one-cup or two-cup) and place it into the 51mm portafilter.
- Add Ground Coffee: Use the included measure spoon to add finely ground coffee into the filter. For a single shot, use one scoop; for a double shot, use two scoops.
- Tamp the Coffee: Use the tamper end of the measure spoon to firmly tamp the coffee grounds evenly. Ensure the surface is level.
- Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the group head on the machine and rotate it from left to right until it is securely locked into place.
- Place Cup(s): Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts. You can preheat your cups on the cup warmer on top of the machine for better flavor retention.
- Brew Espresso: Once the machine is preheated (solid indicator lights), press the single shot button for a single espresso or the double shot button for a double espresso. The machine will automatically dispense the correct volume.
- Customizing Brew Volume: To customize the brew volume, press and hold the desired single or double shot button until the desired amount of espresso is dispensed. Release the button, and the machine will remember this setting for future use.

3.2 Frothing Milk
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Activate Steam Function: Press the steam button on the control panel. The steam indicator light will flash and then remain solid when the steam function is ready.
- Purge Steam Wand: Before frothing, briefly turn the steam control knob counter-clockwise to release any condensed water from the steam wand into an empty cup. Turn the knob clockwise to stop.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam control knob counter-clockwise to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down slowly to create a swirling motion, incorporating air to create froth. For steamed milk, immerse the wand deeper.
- Monitor Temperature: Continue frothing until the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture. The ideal temperature for frothed milk is around 140-150°F (60-65°C).
- Stop Steaming: Turn the steam control knob clockwise to stop the steam. Remove the pitcher.
- Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly turn the steam control knob again to purge any milk from inside the wand.

3.3 Producing Hot Water
- Preheat: Ensure the machine is preheated (solid indicator lights for single/double cup).
- Position Cup: Place a cup under the steam wand.
- Dispense Hot Water: Turn the steam control knob counter-clockwise. The steam pipe will begin to produce hot water.
- Stop Dispensing: Turn the steam control knob clockwise to stop the hot water flow.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GOTMORE Espresso Machine.
4.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the removable drip tray after each use or when the indicator floats up. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Portafilter and Filters: After brewing, remove the portafilter and discard used coffee grounds. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water. Use a brush to remove any stubborn coffee residue.
- Steam Wand: As mentioned in the operating instructions, wipe the steam wand immediately after frothing milk with a damp cloth. Briefly purge steam to clear any internal milk residue.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
4.2 Water Tank Cleaning
Clean the water tank regularly, especially if using hard water. Remove the tank, empty any remaining water, and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and refill with fresh, filtered water.
4.3 Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the machine, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (or use a mixture of white vinegar and water, typically 1:1 ratio). Fill the water tank with this solution.
- Run Solution Through: Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand. Turn on the machine and run half of the descaling solution through the coffee brewing cycle (without coffee). Then, run the remaining half through the steam wand until the tank is empty.
- Rinse: Fill the water tank with fresh, clean water. Run several full tanks of clean water through both the brewing cycle and the steam wand to thoroughly rinse out any descaling solution.
