GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer Instruction Manual

Model: GOWENICi0yo26evm5-12

1. Introduction

The GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer is a portable and easy-to-use device designed to quickly test the quality of various water sources. By observing the color changes in water after electrolysis, users can identify the presence of different impurities such as heavy metals, organic matter, and bacteria. This device is suitable for testing pure water, tap water, well water, sea water, and fish water, making it a versatile tool for household and professional applications.

2. Safety Information

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the device is connected to a power supply within the specified voltage range (100-240V). Do not use if the power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Anti-Leakage Design: The electrolyzer features an anti-leakage design for user safety. However, always handle with dry hands and avoid immersing the main unit in water.
  • Water Consumption Warning: The water samples used for testing will undergo chemical changes and are not safe for consumption after the electrolysis process. Dispose of the tested water properly.
  • Children and Pets: Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.
  • Proper Use: Use the device only for its intended purpose of water quality testing.

3. Product Components

The GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer package includes the following components:

  • 1 x Water Electrolyzer Unit (main body with power cord and switch)
  • 4 x Test Metal Rods (detachable, two iron and two aluminum)

4. Setup

The GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer is designed for "Plug and Play" operation, requiring minimal setup.

  1. Attach Metal Rods: Carefully insert the four test metal rods into the designated slots on the bottom of the electrolyzer unit. Ensure they are securely seated.
  2. Prepare Water Samples: Obtain two clear glasses or containers. Fill one with the water you wish to test (e.g., tap water) and the other with a known pure water source (e.g., distilled water or purified bottled water) for comparison. Ensure both containers have approximately the same volume of water.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to perform a water quality test:

  1. Position Electrodes: Place two sets of electrodes (one pair of iron and one pair of aluminum) into each of the two water containers. Ensure the metal rods are fully submerged in the water but the main plastic body of the electrolyzer remains dry and above the water level.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the electrolyzer's power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (100-240V).
  3. Start Electrolysis: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the electrolyzer to the "ON" position. The electrolysis process will begin immediately.
  4. Observe Results: Allow the electrolysis to proceed for 30 to 60 seconds. Observe the color changes and sediment formation in both water samples.
  5. Stop Electrolysis: After 30-60 seconds, flip the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position and unplug the device from the power outlet.
  6. Interpret Results: Compare the changes in your test water sample to the pure water sample and refer to the interpretation guide below.

Water Quality Interpretation Guide

The colors and substances observed in the electrolyzed water indicate different impurities:

Observed Color/SubstanceIndicated Impurities
YellowAcid, fluoride, and other organic matter
GreenArsenic, mercury, lead, copper, sodium
BlueBacteria, viruses, carcinogens, chemical fertilizers, pesticides
RedIron and rust, bacterial presence
WhiteLead, zinc, mercury, inorganic substances
BlackDirt, heavy metals

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer.

  • Cleaning the Rods: After each use, carefully remove the metal test rods from the electrolyzer unit. Clean any residue or discoloration from the rods using a soft cloth or brush and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Dry them completely before reattaching or storing.
  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the main electrolyzer unit with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Storage: Store the electrolyzer and its components in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GOWENIC Water Electrolyzer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not turn on.No power, loose connection, faulty outlet.Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check the ON/OFF switch position. Try a different outlet.
No reaction or color change in water.Rods not properly submerged, poor contact, extremely pure water.Ensure metal rods are fully submerged and making good contact with the water. Verify the device is powered on. If testing highly purified water (e.g., distilled), minimal reaction is expected.
Excessive sparking or unusual noise.Short circuit, damaged rods.Immediately turn off and unplug the device. Inspect rods for damage. Do not use if damage is apparent. Contact customer support if issues persist.
