Note: A set of slats measuring 52 1/2 inches (not included) is required for mattress support. A mattress is also not included.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to convert your crib into a full-size bed. The installation process typically takes 20-30 minutes.

1. Prepare Your Crib: Disassemble the crib, retaining the headboard and footboard. Ensure all original crib hardware is removed from these components.
2. Attach Bed Rails: Align the provided bed rails with the pre-drilled holes on your crib's headboard and footboard. Use the supplied hardware to securely bolt the rails into place. Ensure all connections are tight.
3. Install Slats: Place the required 52 1/2 inch slats (not included) across the bed rails to create a stable foundation for the mattress. Ensure slats are evenly spaced and securely supported by the bed rails.
4. Place Mattress: Position your full-size mattress onto the installed slats.

Important: Ensure all bolts are tightened securely to prevent wobbling. Periodically check the tightness of all hardware.

Once assembled, your crib is now a full-size bed, utilizing the original headboard and footboard with the new bed rails. This setup is designed to support a full-size mattress.

Choosing Mattress Support: Slats vs. Box Spring

Using slats for mattress support is generally recommended over a box spring. Skipping the box spring can lower the mattress by up to 10 inches, making it easier and safer for a child to get in and out of bed.
