Setup
Installation Steps:
- Choose Installation Method: The DCS-2000 pump can be used either fully submerged in water or as an inline/external pump.
- Attach Fittings: Select the appropriate barbed fitting (16mm or 20mm) for your tubing. Securely attach the fitting to the pump's outlet using the fitting nut and O-ring. For submersible use, ensure the intake screen cover is attached to the pump's inlet.
- Position the Pump: Place the pump in your desired location within the aquarium sump or external setup. Ensure it is stable and will not vibrate excessively.
- Connect Controller: Connect the pump's cable to the 'DC Pump' port on the controller.
- Connect Power Supply: Plug the power supply (AC adapter) into the controller's power input port.
- Secure Controller: Use the provided adhesive pad to mount the controller in a dry, accessible location away from water splashes.
- Power On: Plug the power supply into a suitable electrical outlet. The pump will start operating.

Operating Instructions
The DC Pump Controller allows you to adjust the flow rate and activate a feeding mode.

Controller Functions:
- Flow Adjustment: Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the pump's flow rate. There are 8 adjustable speed settings. The LED indicators on the controller will show the current speed level.
- Feeding Mode: Press the FEED button to activate the feeding mode. The pump will suspend operation for 10 minutes, allowing fish to feed without strong currents. After 10 minutes, the pump will automatically resume its previous operating speed.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.
- Cleaning: Periodically remove the pump from the water and disassemble the impeller cover and impeller. Clean any accumulated debris, algae, or calcium deposits from the impeller, ceramic shaft, and pump housing. Use a soft brush and warm water. For stubborn deposits, a mild vinegar solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing.
- Impeller Inspection: Check the ceramic shaft and impeller for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Intake Screen: Ensure the intake screen is clear of obstructions to maintain proper water flow.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cable and controller cable for any nicks, cuts, or damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
