1. Product Overview
The Eopzol EG6090 Brass Compression FIP Adapter is designed to connect a 3/16 inch compression fitting to a 1/8 inch Female Iron Pipe (FIP) thread. This adapter is a replacement part compatible with Thrifco Plumbing part number 6966002. It is constructed from brass for durability and reliable performance in plumbing applications.

3. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for proper installation of the Brass Compression FIP Adapter. Ensure all connections are clean and free of debris before assembly.
- Prepare the Pipe: Ensure the pipe or tubing to be connected to the compression side is cut squarely and deburred.
- Thread Sealant (FIP Side): Apply an appropriate thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape or pipe dope) to the male threads of the 1/8 inch FIP connection where the adapter will be attached.
- Connect FIP Side: Thread the FIP end of the brass adapter onto the 1/8 inch male pipe thread. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench to tighten an additional 1 to 2 turns past hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
- Assemble Compression Side: Slide the compression nut, followed by the ferrule (sleeve), onto the 3/16 inch tubing. Ensure the ferrule is oriented correctly (tapered end facing the adapter body).
- Insert Tubing: Insert the 3/16 inch tubing with the nut and ferrule into the compression end of the adapter until it bottoms out.
- Tighten Compression Nut: Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the adapter body. Then, use a wrench to tighten the nut approximately 1 to 1.5 turns past hand-tight. This compresses the ferrule onto the tubing, creating a seal. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the ferrule or tubing.
- Check for Leaks: After installation, turn on the water supply and carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. If a leak is detected, tighten the connection slightly until the leak stops.

4. Operation
Once properly installed, the Eopzol EG6090 Brass Compression FIP Adapter functions as a secure and leak-proof connection point between a 3/16 inch compression line and a 1/8 inch FIP connection. No further operational steps are required beyond ensuring a tight, leak-free seal during installation.
5. Maintenance
The Eopzol Brass Compression FIP Adapter is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, periodic inspection is recommended:
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check the adapter and surrounding connections for any signs of corrosion, damage, or leaks.
- Leak Check: If any signs of moisture or dripping are observed, re-check the tightness of the connections. Do not overtighten.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the adapter with a soft cloth if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the brass finish.
6. Troubleshooting
Most issues with plumbing adapters relate to leaks. Follow these steps if you encounter a leak:
- Leak at FIP Connection:
- Ensure sufficient thread sealant was applied to the male pipe threads.
- Gently tighten the FIP connection with a wrench. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the fitting.
- Leak at Compression Connection:
- Verify the tubing is fully inserted into the adapter and the ferrule is correctly seated.
- Gently tighten the compression nut with a wrench. Over-tightening can deform the ferrule or tubing, leading to leaks.
- Inspect the ferrule and tubing for damage. If damaged, replace the ferrule or re-cut the tubing if possible.
- Persistent Leaks: If leaks persist after attempting the above steps, it may indicate a damaged adapter, ferrule, or improper tubing preparation. Consider replacing the affected components.
