5. Assembly Instructions

Assembly is required for this filing cabinet. It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly, although it can be completed by one person. A power screwdriver with a magnetic bit and a flashlight can help expedite the process.

5.1 Preparation

• Unpack all components carefully. Retain original packaging until assembly is complete in case of returns.

• Clear a spacious, clean, and flat work area.

5.2 Assembly Steps

2. Pay close attention to the orientation of each part as depicted in the diagrams. Incorrect orientation can lead to misalignment.
3. Begin by assembling the main frame of the cabinet. Secure panels using the provided screws.
4. Install the drawer slides onto the cabinet frame, ensuring they are correctly aligned and move smoothly.
5. Assemble each drawer separately, attaching the front, back, and side panels, and then installing the drawer bottom.
6. Attach the recessed handles to the drawer fronts.
7. Carefully insert the assembled drawers into the cabinet frame, aligning them with the drawer slides.
8. Install the adjustable feet to the bottom of the cabinet. Adjust them to ensure the cabinet is level and stable.
9. Test the locking mechanism and drawer operation.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Using the Drawers

• To open a drawer, gently pull the recessed handle. The premium ball bearing sliders ensure smooth operation.
• To close a drawer, push it firmly until it is fully seated. Noise reduction pads help minimize sound during closing.
• The drawers are designed to accommodate letter-size files. Ensure files are properly hung or placed to prevent obstruction.
• Avoid forcing drawers open or closed if they encounter resistance. Check for obstructions.

6.2 Locking Mechanism

• The cabinet is equipped with a single lock that secures both drawers simultaneously.
• Insert one of the three provided keys into the lock cylinder located on the front of the cabinet.
• Turn the key clockwise to lock the drawers. Ensure both drawers are fully closed before attempting to lock.
• Turn the key counter-clockwise to unlock the drawers.
• Remove the key after locking or unlocking to prevent it from being lost or damaged. Store spare keys in a secure location.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by drying with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder-coated finish.
• Drawer Slides: Periodically check the drawer slides for smooth operation. If they become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts.
• Adjustable Feet: Ensure the adjustable feet remain properly tightened and adjusted to maintain stability.

• Drawers do not close smoothly:
  • Check for any obstructions inside the drawer or along the slides.
  • Ensure the drawer slides are properly aligned and securely fastened to both the drawer and the cabinet frame.
  • Verify that the cabinet is on a level surface. Adjust the feet if necessary.
• Cabinet is wobbly or unstable:
  • Adjust the leveling feet on the bottom of the cabinet until it is stable on all four corners.
  • Ensure all assembly screws are securely tightened.
• Lock is not engaging:
  • Make sure both drawers are fully closed and pushed in completely before attempting to lock.
  • Check if the key is fully inserted and turned correctly.
