3. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the equipment:

  • ESD Safe: The soldering station is ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safe, protecting sensitive electronic components. However, always use proper ESD precautions, such as an ESD wrist strap, when working with electronics.
  • Hot Surfaces: The soldering iron tip and heating element reach very high temperatures. Avoid direct contact with skin or flammable materials. Allow the iron to cool completely before handling or storing.
  • Ventilation: Soldering produces fumes. Always work in a well-ventilated area or use a fume extractor to avoid inhaling harmful fumes.
  • Power Off: Always turn off the soldering station and unplug it from the power outlet when not in use or before performing any maintenance.
  • Proper Use: Use the soldering station only for its intended purpose. Do not modify the unit or use it with incompatible accessories.
  • Children and Pets: Keep the soldering station and all accessories out of reach of children and pets.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your soldering station:

  • Tip Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering iron tip using the included copper wire ball or a damp sponge. This removes oxidation and solder residue, ensuring efficient heat transfer.
  • Tip Tinning: Always tin the tip with a small amount of solder before and after use, and before storing. This prevents oxidation and prolongs tip life.
  • Station Cleaning: Wipe down the main unit and soldering iron handle with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Tip Replacement: Replace soldering tips when they become excessively worn or corroded. The station accepts universal 900 series soldering iron tips.
  • Handle Components: Ensure the stainless steel sleeve and silicone heat shield on the soldering iron handle are secure. Be careful not to overtighten the sleeve, as this can damage the ceramic heating core.
