Setup

1. Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go Essential. Connect the AC power cord to the speaker's power input and then to a power outlet. The battery indicator lights will show the charging status. A full charge takes approximately 3.5 hours.

2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button located on the top panel to turn the speaker on or off.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Turn on the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go Essential.
  2. Press the Bluetooth button on the top panel to enter pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
  3. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and select "JBL PartyBox On-The-Go Essential" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid blue.

4. Wireless Microphone Setup

The included wireless microphone is pre-paired with the speaker. Simply turn on the microphone, and it should automatically connect. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section.

Operating Instructions

1. Audio Playback

  • Bluetooth: Stream audio wirelessly from your paired device.
  • USB Playback: Insert a USB drive with audio files into the USB port. The speaker will automatically play compatible files.
  • AUX Input: Connect an external audio device using a 3.5mm AUX cable.

2. Microphone and Guitar Inputs

The speaker features dedicated inputs for a microphone and a guitar. Adjust the volume and effects (like echo) for each input using the corresponding knobs on the top panel.

3. Light Show

The JBL PartyBox On-The-Go Essential features a dynamic light show that syncs to the music. Use the Light Mode button on the top panel to cycle through various preset patterns or turn the lights off. The speaker remembers your last light setting.

4. Bass Boost

Enhance the bass output by pressing the Bass Boost button on the top panel. This feature provides a deeper, more impactful bass experience.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker's exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, fully charge the speaker at least once every 3 months if not used regularly.
  • Splashproof Protection (IPX4): The speaker is IPX4 splashproof, meaning it can withstand splashes of water. Do not submerge the speaker in water or expose it to heavy rain. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposure to water.

Troubleshooting
