1. Introduction

The Yaconob BT-S2NS Helmet Bluetooth Headset is designed to enhance your riding experience with seamless communication and entertainment. This advanced communication system allows for full-duplex intercom functionality, connecting up to three riders with two able to talk simultaneously over a distance of 800-1000 meters. It features intelligent noise reduction for clear audio, FM radio, and connectivity with mobile phones and GPS devices for music and calls.

2. What's in the Box

Your Yaconob BT-S2NS package includes the following components:

3. Setup & Installation

The BT-S2NS unit can be installed on most full-face and half-face helmets that cover the ears. There are two primary installation methods: using the clamp or using Velcro adhesive.

3.1. Installation by Clamps

  1. Mount the clamp on the main unit using the provided screwdriver and screws.
  2. Open the inner lining on the left side of the helmet to position the clamp securely and tighten the screws.
  3. Open the inner lining at the ear position of the helmet and attach Velcro surface for the speaker on the headphone cable.
  4. Attach the speaker hook surface to the fur surface inside the helmet.
  5. Attach the circular microphone rod to a suitable position on the left side of the helmet, ensuring the microphone is aimed at your mouth. Adjust the lining as needed.
  6. Insert the earphone plug into the headphone jack on the main unit. Installation is complete.

3.2. Installation by Velcro

  1. Peel open the back adhesive of the Velcro hook.
  2. Attach the Velcro hook at the corresponding position on the bottom of the main unit.
  3. Peel open the hairy back adhesive of the Velcro, and attach it at the corresponding position of the helmet together with the main unit.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Long press the power button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light turns on.
  • Power Off: Long press the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator light turns off.

4.2. Bluetooth Pairing (Two BT-S2NS Units)

To establish an intercom connection between two BT-S2NS units:

  1. Ensure both Bluetooth devices are off and placed within 1 meter of each other.
  2. Long press the power button of both BT-S2NS Bluetooth units for 4 seconds until red and blue lights flash alternately.
  3. Press the power button of one of the Bluetooth units. It will automatically search for the other Bluetooth unit for pairing.
  4. Once pairing is successful, you will hear "Intercom connected". You can then start your intercom conversation.

4.3. Bluetooth Pairing (BT-S2NS with BT-S2 Version)

To pair a BT-S2NS unit with an older BT-S2 version unit:

  1. Turn on both devices first to clear any previous pairing records. Place them within 1 meter range.
  2. Long press the power button of the BT-S2NS Bluetooth unit until red and blue lights flash alternately.
  3. Press the power button on the BT-S2 version for 4 seconds to enter the red and blue light flashing mode.
  4. Short press the power button and phone button of the BT-S2NS Bluetooth unit simultaneously. It will automatically search for the BT-S2 Bluetooth for pairing.
  5. When you hear "Intercom connected", the connection is successful.

Note: The BT-S2NS version Bluetooth can initiate pairing only; the BT-S2 version cannot actively connect to the BT-S2NS version Bluetooth.

4.4. Clear Pairing Record

To clear all pairing records from the device:

  • When the device is shut down, press the power button for 8 seconds until you hear a 'beep' sound. This indicates that all pairing records have been cleared.

4.5. Bluetooth and Mobile Phone/GPS/MP3 Pairing

To connect your BT-S2NS unit to a mobile phone, GPS, or MP3 player:

  1. Place the BT-S2NS unit and your mobile device within 1 meter range.
  2. When the BT-S2NS Bluetooth is off, long press the power button for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode (red and blue lights flashing alternately).
  3. Turn on your mobile phone's Bluetooth and search for available Bluetooth devices.
  4. Select "BT-S2NS" from the list of devices.
  5. Click "Connect". You will hear "Bluetooth connected" when the connection is successful.

4.6. Intercom Function

The BT-S2NS supports full-duplex intercom, allowing up to 3 people to connect and 2 people to talk simultaneously. The maximum ideal speed for clear communication is 80 km/h to 120 km/h, with a straight-line accessibility distance of 800-1000 meters.

4.7. Music Playback & Controls

Enjoy cell phone music through A2DP. You can control the previous and next song, as well as pause/play, using the AVRCP controls on the unit. The unit also supports voice operation for convenience.

4.8. Phone Calls

The headset allows for hands-free phone calls. Use the dedicated phone button to answer or end calls. The intelligent noise reduction (DSP) ensures clear sound quality even at high speeds.

4.9. FM Radio

The built-in FM radio function (87.5 MHz to 108.0 MHz) automatically selects the best program frequency for you on the go, allowing you to listen to your favorite stations.
