5. Setup and Installation
The solar lights offer three primary installation methods. Choose the method best suited for your desired location.
5.1. Clip-on Installation
This method is ideal for fences, gutters, patios, or other structures where drilling is not preferred.
- Identify a location that receives direct sunlight for most of the day.
- Open the integrated clip on the back of the solar light.
- Securely attach the clip to the edge of a fence, gutter, or similar structure. Ensure the solar panel faces upwards towards the sun.
5.2. Screw Installation
For a more permanent fixture on walls or wooden surfaces.
- Mark the desired mounting points on the surface.
- If mounting on masonry, drill pilot holes and insert the expansion screws.
- Align the mounting brackets with the holes and secure them using the provided screws.
- Attach the solar light to the installed brackets.
5.3. Hook Installation
Suitable for temporary placement or surfaces where clips and screws are not feasible.
- Clean the surface where the sticky hooks will be applied.
- Peel off the protective backing from the sticky hooks and firmly press them onto the surface.
- Hang the solar light onto the installed sticky hooks.

6. Operating Instructions
The solar light features three distinct lighting modes, selectable via a button on the unit. Ensure the light is fully charged before first use.
6.1. Initial Activation and Charging
Before first use, place the solar light in direct sunlight for 6-8 hours to allow the battery to fully charge. The light will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn.

Figure 5: Automatic Charging and Lighting. This image illustrates the automatic charging function during the day (4-6 hours) and automatic lighting at night (10-14 hours).
6.2. Selecting Lighting Modes
Press the control button on the light to cycle through the modes:
- Mode 1 (Dim Light & Strong Sensor Mode): The light stays at 30% brightness at night. When motion is detected, it brightens to 100% for approximately 15-30 seconds, then returns to 30% brightness.
- Mode 2 (Strong Light Sensor Mode): The light remains off at night. When motion is detected, it illuminates at 100% brightness for approximately 15-30 seconds, then turns off.
- Mode 3 (Stay Dim Mode): The light stays at 30% brightness continuously throughout the night, regardless of motion detection.

Figure 6: Lighting Mode Explanations. This graphic details the behavior of each of the three operational modes, showing how the light responds to motion and ambient light conditions.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar lights.
- Clean Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
- Clear Obstructions: Ensure no trees, buildings, or other objects block direct sunlight from reaching the solar panel.
- Inspect for Damage: Regularly check the light for any physical damage, loose connections, or signs of wear.
- Winter Care: In areas with heavy snow, clear snow from the solar panel to allow charging.
8. Troubleshooting
If your solar light is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
- Light does not turn on at night:
- Ensure the solar panel is receiving sufficient direct sunlight (6-8 hours) during the day.
- Check if the light is in the correct operating mode (Mode 2 will be off until motion is detected).
- Verify that the ambient light sensor is not obstructed or detecting artificial light, which might prevent the light from activating.
- Light duration is short:
- The solar panel may not be getting enough direct sunlight. Relocate the light if necessary.
- The battery may not be fully charged due to cloudy weather or insufficient charging time.
- Ensure the solar panel is clean and free of dirt or debris.
- Motion sensor is not detecting:
- Ensure the light is installed within the recommended height range (4.92 to 8.2 ft).
- Check for obstructions in front of the sensor.
- Verify the light is in Mode 1 or Mode 2, as Mode 3 does not use motion detection for brightness changes.
