Assembly Instructions

The Riflevault 10-14 Gun Safe is designed for user assembly. Follow these steps carefully. An electric drill is recommended to expedite the process.

Key Features

Secure Locking Mechanisms

The safe offers four methods for access, ensuring reliability and convenience:

  • Fingerprint + Handle: For quick and daily access.
  • Code + Handle: For quick and daily access using a personalized passcode.
  • Emergency Key + Handle: Used for initial opening, if the code is forgotten, or in case of low battery.
  • Emergency Battery Box + Code + Handle: For situations with low battery and a lost key.

Dual Alarm System & Mute Function

The safe is equipped with a dual alarm system to enhance security:

  • Alarm Activation: The alarm activates after 5 consecutive incorrect fingerprint attempts, 3 consecutive incorrect passcode entries, or violent vibrations.
  • Alarm Deactivation: The alarm can be stopped by entering the correct passcode or using a registered fingerprint.
  • Mute Mode: To enable or disable the mute function, press "*" then "1" on the keypad. This allows for silent operation.

Interior Design and Storage

Initial Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the door or control panel.
  2. Insert the required batteries (not specified, typically AA or AAA) ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

Setting Passcode

  1. With the safe door open, press the internal reset button (often a small button near the battery compartment or on the control panel).
  2. Enter your desired 8-digit passcode on the touchscreen keypad.
  3. Press the '#' key to confirm. The safe should emit a confirmation sound.
  4. Test the new passcode with the door open before closing it.

Registering Fingerprints

  1. With the safe door open, press the internal reset button (short press, do not hold).
  2. Place your finger on the fingerprint scanner. The safe will prompt you to lift and place your finger multiple times from different angles to ensure a complete scan.
  3. Repeat for additional fingerprints if desired. The safe typically supports multiple registered fingerprints.
  4. Test each registered fingerprint with the door open before closing it.

Note: Some users have reported issues with fingerprint recognition. Ensure your finger is clean and dry during registration and use. If issues persist, re-register your fingerprints or contact customer support for assistance. Always test thoroughly.

Operating Instructions

Opening the Safe

  • Using Fingerprint: Place a registered finger on the scanner, then turn the handle.
  • Using Passcode: Enter your 8-digit passcode, then turn the handle.
  • Using Emergency Key: Insert the emergency key into the keyhole, turn it, then turn the handle.
  • Using Emergency Battery Box: If batteries are depleted, connect the emergency battery box, enter your passcode, then turn the handle.

Closing and Locking the Safe

Close the door firmly and turn the handle to the locked position. The safe will automatically engage the locking bolts.

Activating Mute Mode

To toggle the mute function (silent operation), press "*" then "1" on the keypad.

Alarm System Activation

The alarm system automatically activates if there are 5 incorrect fingerprint attempts, 3 incorrect passcode entries, or significant vibration. To manually turn on the alarm mode, press "-" then "9" on the keypad.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears. Use high-quality alkaline batteries. Always have the emergency key or battery box accessible.

Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the fingerprint scanner clean and free of debris.

Security Checks

Periodically check the anchoring bolts to ensure they remain tight. Verify the locking mechanism operates smoothly.
