Setup

1. Physical Placement and Stand Adjustment

The monitor features a built-in kickstand that allows for 0-180 degree adjustment, enabling both horizontal and vertical orientations. This ergonomic design facilitates use in various environments.

For alternative mounting, the monitor is equipped with VESA M4*4mm mounting holes on the back. This allows for attachment to compatible monitor arms or wall mounts, providing flexibility for your workspace setup.

2. Connecting to Devices

The EPORMOT portable monitor offers wide compatibility with various devices through its multiple input ports. Ensure your device supports video output via USB-C or HDMI.

  • USB-C Connection: Use the provided USB C-C cable to connect the monitor to a device with a full-featured USB Type-C 3.1 port (which supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode and power delivery). This single cable can transmit both video signal and power.
  • Mini HDMI Connection: Use the provided Mini HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the monitor to devices with an HDMI output. In this configuration, the monitor will require external power via the USB-C power adapter.
  • Audio Output: A 3.5mm audio jack is available for connecting headphones or external speakers.

Powering the Monitor:

  • If using a full-featured USB-C connection, the monitor may draw power directly from the connected device.
  • If using Mini HDMI or if the USB-C connection does not provide sufficient power, connect the provided PD 30W Power Adapter to one of the USB-C ports on the monitor.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Menu Navigation

Locate the power button and menu control (often a pulley button or joystick) on the side of the monitor. Press and hold the power button to turn the monitor on or off. Use the menu control to navigate the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu for various settings.

2. Display Settings

  • Brightness and Contrast: Adjust these settings via the OSD menu to suit your viewing environment. The monitor offers up to 350 nits of brightness.
  • Color Modes: Select from various color profiles, including options for 100% sRGB and HDR support, to optimize visual fidelity for different content types.
  • Eyecare Bluelight Filter: Activate the bluelight filter through the OSD menu to reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

3. Gaming Features (120Hz & FreeSync)

The monitor supports a 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync technology for enhanced gaming and multimedia experiences.

  • 120Hz Refresh Rate: Provides smoother motion and reduced input lag. Ensure your connected device and game settings are configured to output at 120Hz for optimal performance.
  • FreeSync: This technology synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with the graphics card's frame rate, eliminating screen tearing and stuttering. Enable FreeSync in the monitor's OSD menu and your graphics card settings (if applicable).

4. Audio Output

The monitor is equipped with dual 1W speakers for audio output. For private listening or higher quality audio, connect headphones or external speakers to the 3.5mm audio jack.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a specialized screen cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Body: Wipe the monitor's casing with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use, especially during travel, store the monitor in a protective sleeve or case to prevent scratches and damage.
  • Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the monitor to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Signal:
    • Ensure the USB-C or Mini HDMI cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the source device.
    • Verify that the source device is powered on and configured to output video to an external display.
    • If using Mini HDMI, ensure the monitor is receiving adequate power via the USB-C power adapter.
    • Try a different cable or port if available.
  • No Power:
    • Ensure the power adapter is correctly connected to the monitor and a working power outlet.
    • If powered via USB-C from a laptop, ensure the laptop has sufficient battery or is also connected to power.
  • Flickering Screen / Image Distortion:
    • Check cable connections for looseness or damage.
    • Adjust the refresh rate settings on your source device.
    • Disable FreeSync temporarily to see if the issue persists.
    • Ensure the monitor is not near strong electromagnetic interference.
  • No Audio from Speakers/Headphones:
    • Check the volume settings on both the monitor (via OSD) and the source device.
    • Ensure headphones are fully plugged into the 3.5mm audio jack.
    • Verify that the audio output on your source device is directed to the external monitor.
