3. Setup Guide
- Charge the Battery: Connect the provided Spektrum Smart LiPo battery to the Spektrum Smart charger. Follow the charger's instructions for safe and complete charging. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- Install Transmitter Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the 2.4GHz transmitter and insert the required AA batteries (not included). Close the compartment securely.
- Install Boat Battery: Carefully remove the boat's top hatch. Connect the fully charged Spektrum Smart LiPo battery to the Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) power terminal inside the boat. Secure the battery using the internal fastening mechanism (e.g., Velcro strap) to prevent movement during operation.
- Secure Hatches: Ensure both the inner and outer hatches of the boat are securely closed and latched to maintain waterproofing.
- Power On Transmitter: Turn on the 2.4GHz transmitter. The LED indicator should flash, indicating it's searching for the boat.
- Place Boat in Water: The boat is water-activated. Once placed in water, it will automatically power on and attempt to pair with the transmitter. A successful pairing is usually indicated by a solid LED on the transmitter and a confirmation sound.
4. Operating Instructions
The Pro Boat Recoil 2 is designed for high-speed performance and agile handling. Familiarize yourself with the controls before operating in open water.
- Throttle Control: Use the trigger on the transmitter to control the boat's speed. Pulling the trigger back increases forward speed, pushing it forward applies reverse.
- Steering Control: Use the steering wheel on the transmitter to turn the boat left or right.
- Self-Righting Feature: The Recoil 2 features proven self-righting capabilities. If the boat flips over, simply apply throttle or use a specific button on the transmitter (refer to transmitter manual for exact function) to automatically flip it back upright.
- Water-Cooled System: The powerful Spektrum brushless motor and ESC are water-cooled, ensuring optimal performance during extended runs.
- Optimal Conditions: Operate the boat in calm, open water free from obstacles to maximize performance and avoid damage.

- Water Cooling System: Periodically check the water intake and outlet for blockages. Ensure water flows freely through the system to prevent motor overheating.
- Propeller Care: The propeller is a wear item. Inspect it regularly for nicks or bends. Replace if damaged to maintain optimal performance.
- Storage: Store the boat and all components in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Boat does not respond to transmitter. | Uncharged battery in boat or transmitter; not paired; out of range. | Charge/replace batteries. Re-pair transmitter and boat. Bring boat closer to transmitter. |
| Boat runs slowly or intermittently. | Low boat battery; propeller fouled; motor overheating. | Recharge boat battery. Clear propeller of debris. Check water cooling system for blockages. |
| Boat flips over frequently. | Rough water conditions; excessive speed in turns. | Operate in calmer water. Reduce speed when turning. Utilize self-righting feature. |
| Water inside the hull. | Hatch not properly sealed; damage to hull. | Ensure all hatches are securely closed. Inspect hull for cracks and repair if necessary. |
