2. Safety Information
Adhering to safety guidelines is crucial for preventing injury and damage to the product. Always observe the following precautions:
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the actuator's rated voltage (DC 12V). Disconnect power before any installation, wiring, or maintenance. Avoid exposing electrical connections to moisture.
- Moving Parts: Keep hands, clothing, and other objects clear of the actuator's moving rod during operation to prevent pinching or crushing injuries.
- Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum rated load of 220 lbs (1000N). Overloading can cause damage to the actuator and potential safety hazards.
- Installation: Securely mount the actuator using appropriate hardware and ensure the mounting surface can support the actuator's weight and the applied load. Incorrect mounting can lead to instability and failure.
- Environment: While the actuator has an IP54 protection rating, it is splash-proof and dust-resistant, not fully waterproof. Avoid submerging the actuator or exposing it to heavy rain or direct water jets. Water should not penetrate the interior of the motor.
- Modifications: Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the actuator. This can void the warranty and create safety risks. The internal limit switch is non-adjustable.

5. Installation and Wiring
Proper installation and wiring are essential for the actuator's functionality and safety.
5.1 Mounting
The actuator comes with mounting brackets for secure attachment. Ensure the mounting points are robust enough to handle the actuator's force and the load it will move. Consider the angle of operation, as it affects the effective thrust force.

Figure 4: Explanation of how the angle of installation affects the linear drive force. For optimal performance, a 0° angle provides 100% push use. At 90°, it's 75% push use, and at >90°, it's 50% push use.
5.2 Wiring Connection
The actuator requires a DC 12V power supply. A controller (not included) is typically used for optimal operation and control.
- Connect the two wires of the actuator to a 12V battery or a compatible 12V, 8A power supply (purchased separately).
- To extend the actuator, connect the blue wire to the positive (+) terminal and the gray wire to the negative (-) terminal.
- To retract the actuator, reverse the terminal connection (blue wire to negative, gray wire to positive).
- Note: Only the pushrod is included. Additional installation accessories, power supply, and controller part need to be purchased separately.
- Important: When two or more actuators are controlled simultaneously, their operating speeds may differ and they cannot be guaranteed to synchronize perfectly.

6. Operation
The VEVOR linear actuator provides precise and controlled linear motion. Its key operational characteristics include:
- Fast Stroke Adjustment: The actuator moves at a speed of 0.55 inches per second (14mm/s), allowing for quick adjustments in dynamic environments.
- Robust Torque: With a high torque output of 220 lbs (1000N), it provides stable thrust for medium-duty tasks, suitable for various home and industrial applications.
- Quiet Operation: The motor operates quietly at under 50 dB, making it suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
- Internal Limit Switches: The actuator is equipped with pre-installed internal limit switches that automatically stop the motion when the rod reaches its fully extended or retracted position. These switches are non-adjustable.
- Power Interruption: When power is off, the actuator will remain in its current position.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your linear actuator:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the actuator with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the actuator for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Check the mounting brackets and pins for secure attachment.
- Lubrication: The internal components are pre-lubricated and generally do not require additional lubrication under normal operating conditions.
- Environmental Protection: Despite its IP54 rating, protect the actuator from excessive moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures to prolong its lifespan. Ensure the motor interior remains dry.

Figure 7: The actuator features IP54 protection, making it resistant to dust and splashing water.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your linear actuator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Actuator does not move | No power supply; incorrect wiring; overloaded. | Check power connections and voltage. Verify wiring polarity. Reduce load to within specifications. |
| Actuator moves slowly or intermittently | Low voltage; excessive load; internal friction. | Ensure stable 12V power supply. Reduce load. Inspect for obstructions. |
| Actuator stops before reaching full stroke | Internal limit switch activated prematurely; obstruction. | Check for physical obstructions. The internal limit switches are non-adjustable. |
| Actuators are not synchronized (when using multiple units) | Natural speed variations in DC motors under load. | This is a normal phenomenon for DC motors. For applications requiring precise synchronization, external control systems with feedback mechanisms are necessary. The product is not designed for inherent synchronization of multiple units. |
| Unusual noise during operation | Excessive load; internal damage; foreign object. | Reduce load. Discontinue use if noise persists and contact support. |
