2. Installing the iCUE LINK System Hub
The System Hub is the central control unit for all iCUE LINK devices. Mount it in an accessible location within your PC case, typically behind the motherboard tray.
Video: This video demonstrates the installation and connection process for the CORSAIR iCUE LINK System Hub and daisy-chaining fans. It shows how to connect the hub to power and USB, and then how to link multiple fans together using the iCUE LINK cables.
- Connect the System Hub to your power supply using the provided PCIe power cable.
- Connect the System Hub to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard using the provided USB cable.
- Secure the hub using the adhesive strips or mounting screws.
3. Component Installation
- CPU Water Block (XC7 Elite): Install the XC7 Elite CPU Water Block onto your CPU following the instructions provided with the water block. Ensure proper thermal paste application and secure mounting.
- Pump/Reservoir (XD5 Elite): Mount the XD5 Elite D5 Pump/Reservoir combo in your desired location. This unit combines the pump and reservoir, simplifying installation.
- Radiator (XR5 360mm): Install the XR5 360mm Radiator in your case. Attach the 3x QX120 RGB Fans to the radiator, ensuring correct airflow direction (intake or exhaust).
- Tubing and Fittings:
- Measure and cut the XT Hardline Tubing to the required lengths using the hacksaw and sawing clamp.
- Use the tube reamer to smooth the edges of the cut tubing.
- Heat the tubing with a heat gun (not included) and use the bending mandrel to create desired bends.
- Install the XF Hardline Fittings onto the components and tubing, ensuring a secure, leak-free connection.

5. Filling and Leak Testing
- Fill the reservoir with the provided XL8 Clear Performance Coolant using the filling bottle.
- Perform a leak test by running the pump without powering on other PC components. Monitor for any leaks for at least 24 hours.
- Once leak-free, top off the coolant if necessary.
Operating Instructions
1. iCUE Software Installation
Download and install the latest version of CORSAIR iCUE software from the official CORSAIR website. iCUE is essential for controlling your cooling kit's performance and RGB lighting.
2. Initial Setup in iCUE
- Launch iCUE. The software should automatically detect your iCUE LINK System Hub and connected devices.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to configure your devices, including fan order and lighting zones.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your custom cooling loop:
- Coolant Replacement: Replace the coolant every 12 months or as recommended by CORSAIR. Drain the old coolant completely before refilling with fresh XL8 Performance Coolant.
- System Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades to maintain efficient heat dissipation.
- Leak Checks: Regularly inspect tubing and fittings for any signs of leaks or wear.
- Component Inspection: Check the CPU water block and pump/reservoir for any buildup or discoloration.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No RGB lighting | Loose iCUE LINK cable connection, iCUE software issue, power issue. | Check all iCUE LINK cable connections. Ensure the System Hub is powered and connected via USB. Restart iCUE software or reinstall if necessary. |
| High temperatures | Insufficient fan speed, pump not running, air bubbles in loop, clogged radiator. | Adjust fan/pump speeds in iCUE. Check pump operation. Bleed air from the loop. Clean radiator fins. |
| Coolant leaks | Loose fittings, damaged tubing. | Immediately power off the PC. Tighten all fittings. Inspect tubing for cracks or damage and replace if necessary. |
| iCUE LINK devices not detected | Incorrect hub connection, outdated iCUE software. | Verify System Hub power and USB connections. Update iCUE software to the latest version. Try connecting devices to different ports on the hub. |
