5. Setup

5.1 Placement

5.2 Connecting to Your TV

Choose one of the following connection methods:

  1. HDMI (ARC) Connection (Recommended):
    • Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI (ARC) port on the soundbar to the HDMI (ARC) port on your TV.
    • Ensure HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is enabled on your TV for seamless control.
  2. Optical Connection:
    • Connect an optical cable from the OPTICAL IN port on the soundbar to the Optical Out port on your TV.
  3. Coaxial Connection:
    • Connect a coaxial cable from the COAXIAL IN port on the soundbar to the Coaxial Out port on your TV.

5.3 Connecting Other Devices

  • Aux-In: Connect an audio cable (3.5mm to 3.5mm or RCA to 3.5mm) from your device's audio output to the AUX IN port on the soundbar.
  • USB: Insert a USB storage device into the USB port to play compatible audio files.

5.4 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the soundbar's power input and then to a wall outlet.

6. Operating Your Soundbar

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the remote control or on the soundbar to turn the unit on or off.

6.2 Source Selection

Press the Source button on the remote control or on the soundbar repeatedly to cycle through the available input sources: HDMI ARC, Optical, Coaxial, Aux, USB, and Bluetooth.

6.3 Volume Control

Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the remote control or soundbar to adjust the volume level.

6.4 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Switch the soundbar to Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
  2. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Philips TAB4228/94" from the list.
  4. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
