Package Contents
The package contains the following items:
- 1 x vidaXL Frosted Star Pattern Window Film (90 x 500 cm)
Additional tools required for installation (not included):
- Measuring tape or ruler
- Utility knife or sharp scissors
- Spray bottle (for water and a small amount of dish soap)
- Squeegee or credit card (for smoothing)
- Lint-free cloth or paper towels
Setup and Preparation
- Clean the Window Surface: Thoroughly clean the window glass using a glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth. Ensure there is no dust, dirt, or residue on the surface. This is crucial for proper adhesion.
- Measure the Window: Measure the exact height and width of the glass surface where the film will be applied. It is recommended to add an extra 1-2 cm (0.4-0.8 inches) to each dimension when cutting the film to allow for trimming.
- Cut the Film: Unroll the window film on a clean, flat surface. Using your measurements, carefully cut the film to size with a utility knife and a ruler, or sharp scissors.
- Prepare Soapy Water Solution: Fill a spray bottle with water and add a few drops of dish soap. Shake gently to mix. This solution will help with positioning and removing air bubbles.

Application Instructions
- Peel Off the Backing Film: Locate the clear protective backing film. It is usually on one side of the window film. Use two pieces of tape on opposite sides of a corner to help separate the backing film from the main window film. Peel off the entire backing film. This step is critical for the static cling to work.
- Wet the Window and Film: Generously spray the clean window glass with the soapy water solution. Also, spray the adhesive side (the side from which you just removed the backing film) of the window film. The more water, the easier it is to position and remove bubbles.
- Apply the Film: Carefully position the wet film onto the wet glass. The soapy water allows you to slide and adjust the film until it is perfectly aligned.
- Squeegee Out Water and Air Bubbles: Starting from the center and working outwards, use a squeegee or credit card to firmly push out all water and air bubbles. Apply consistent pressure. Wipe away excess water with a lint-free cloth.
- Trim Excess Film: If you cut the film slightly larger than the window, use a utility knife and a ruler to carefully trim any excess film along the edges of the window frame. This creates a clean, finished look.
- Final Wipe Down: Wipe the entire surface of the film and the window frame with a clean, dry cloth to remove any remaining water or residue.

Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your window film:
- Clean the film with a soft, lint-free cloth and mild soapy water.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, brushes, or scouring pads, as these can scratch or damage the film.
- Do not use strong chemical solvents or ammonia-based cleaners.
- For stubborn spots, gently rub with a damp cloth.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Film is not sticking / Peeling at edges | Backing film not removed; Insufficient water; Dirty window surface; Edges not properly squeegeed. | Ensure backing film is completely removed. Re-spray the area with soapy water and re-squeegee firmly. Clean window thoroughly before application. |
| Air bubbles remain after squeegeeing | Insufficient water; Air trapped; Dust particles. | Lift the nearest edge of the film, re-spray with more soapy water, and re-squeegee from the center outwards. Ensure the window is free of dust before application. |
| Film looks cloudy or hazy | Excess water trapped; Film not fully dried. | This is usually temporary. Allow several days for the film to fully dry and cure. The haziness should disappear as the water evaporates. Ensure thorough squeegeeing during application. |
