5. Installation
The Safety 1st Turn and Go 360 ST Car Seat can be installed using your vehicle's seat belt or the LATCH system. The base installation remains the same for all three modes of use.
5.1. Installing Base with Vehicle Belt
- Place the car seat in your vehicle. The taller side of the base should always be against the back of the vehicle's seat.
- Loosely attach the top tether hook to the vehicle's tether anchor. Refer to your vehicle manual for locations.
- Squeeze the "Squeeze to Rotate" handle located on the front of the car seat base and swivel the seat to face you (side view).
- Squeeze the release handle located on the front of the car seat while lifting the car seat off the base and flipping it over to the opposite side. The car seat is intentionally attached to the base via a connection cord and should not be removed.
- First, open the vehicle belt lock-off by squeezing the handle and pulling it forward.
- Weave the vehicle seat belt in and out of the gray belt path and buckle the belt. Ensure the belt is flat and not twisted.
- Place your hand in the base and firmly push down on the base. Pull the seat belt parallel with the belt path to tighten and remove slack. The SecureTech™ tension indicators will begin to turn green as the vehicle belt is tightened.
- Close the vehicle belt lock-off. Both SecureTech™ indicators will turn completely green when the vehicle belt is properly installed.
- Check to confirm that the base is tightly installed. With your non-dominant hand, firmly grab the car seat base right at the belt path and push and pull from side to side. If the base moves more than one inch, you can try reinstalling or changing to a different seating location.
- Lastly, tighten the top tether strap until the tether door is flush with the base.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your car seat, refer to the following common solutions:
- Loose Installation: If the car seat base moves more than one inch from side to side or front to back at the belt path, it is not installed tightly enough. Re-read the installation instructions carefully, ensuring you are pulling the belt parallel to the belt path to remove slack and that the SecureTech™ indicators turn completely green. You may also try installing the car seat in a different seating location in your vehicle.
- Harness Adjustment Difficulty: Ensure the harness straps are not twisted. Lubricate the buckle with warm water if it becomes sticky.
- Rotation Difficulty: Ensure the car seat base is properly installed and the rotation lock indicator is showing the unlocked symbol before attempting to rotate.
