Ledvion Wireless Motion Sensor LV50027 User Manual

Model: LV50027

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Ledvion Wireless Motion Sensor, model LV50027. This device is designed to enhance security and convenience by automatically controlling lighting based on detected movement and ambient light conditions. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use.

2. Product Overview and Features

The Ledvion LV50027 is a versatile motion sensor suitable for various applications. Its key features include:

  • Universal Surface-Mounted Design: This surface-mounted motion sensor features 180° detection and a twilight switch, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments with an IP44 protection rating.
  • Versatile Lamp Compatibility: The sensor can be paired with incandescent lamps up to 800W and LED lamps up to 400W, offering broad compatibility with various lighting types.
  • Adjustable Ambient Light Sensitivity: An integrated twilight switch allows users to set the sensor's activation threshold based on ambient light levels. This enables the sensor to activate only during specific periods, such as at night or throughout the day, as required.
  • Adjustable Illumination Duration: The twilight switch also provides control over how long connected lights remain on after motion detection. The duration can be set from 10 seconds to 15 minutes.
  • Easy Installation: Installation is straightforward, facilitated by the included screws and wall plugs. The sensor has a detection range of up to 12 meters and an ideal installation height between 1.8 and 2.5 meters. Upon detecting movement, connected lights activate instantly.

3. Safety Information

WARNING: Electrical installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician.

  • Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load ratings for incandescent (800W) or LED (400W) lamps.
  • The product is rated IP44 for protection against splashing water and solid objects larger than 1mm. While suitable for outdoor use, avoid direct exposure to heavy rain or submersion.
  • Keep the device away from flammable materials.
  • Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the sensor. This will void the warranty and may cause electrical hazards.

4. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before proceeding with installation:

  • Ledvion Wireless Motion Sensor (LV50027)
  • Mounting Screws
  • Wall Plugs
  • User Manual (this document)

5. Installation

5.1 Choosing an Installation Location

Select a location that provides optimal detection coverage and is within the recommended installation height of 1.8 to 2.5 meters. Avoid placing the sensor near heat sources, air conditioning vents, or areas with direct sunlight, as these can cause false triggers. Ensure the sensor has a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor.

5.2 Mounting the Sensor

  1. Disconnect Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the installation area is switched off at the circuit breaker.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the sensor in the desired mounting position and mark the locations for the mounting screws.
  3. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points. Insert the provided wall plugs into the drilled holes.
  4. Secure Sensor: Attach the sensor to the surface using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly secured.

5.3 Wiring the Sensor

The sensor comes with a 0.5m cable for connection. Follow local electrical codes and the wiring diagram provided with your specific lighting fixture. Typically, the sensor will be wired in series with the live wire of the light fixture. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the wiring process.

  • Connect the Live (L) wire from the power supply to the sensor's input Live terminal.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the power supply to the sensor's input Neutral terminal.
  • Connect the sensor's output Live terminal to the Live (L) terminal of your light fixture.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) terminal of your light fixture to the Neutral (N) wire from the power supply.

Note: The sensor is designed for AC power (230 Volts).

6. Operation and Settings

After installation and power restoration, the sensor will enter a warm-up period (usually a few seconds) during which it may activate randomly. Once warmed up, it will operate according to its settings.

6.1 Adjusting Ambient Light Sensitivity (LUX)

The sensor features a twilight switch to control activation based on ambient light. Locate the LUX adjustment dial on the sensor. Rotate the dial to set the desired light level for activation:

  • 'Sun' symbol: Sensor activates at any light level (day and night).
  • 'Moon' symbol: Sensor activates only in low light conditions (dusk/night).

6.2 Adjusting Illumination Duration (TIME)

The TIME adjustment dial controls how long the connected lights remain on after motion is detected and before the sensor resets. Rotate the dial to set the desired duration:

  • Settings typically range from 10 seconds to 15 minutes.
  • Start with a shorter duration and adjust as needed for your application.

6.3 Adjusting Detection Range (SENS)

Some models may include a SENS (Sensitivity) dial to adjust the detection range. If present, rotate this dial to increase or decrease the sensor's detection distance (up to 12 meters).

7. Maintenance

The Ledvion Motion Sensor requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the sensor lens and casing with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly check the sensor for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  • Environmental Factors: Ensure the detection area remains clear of obstructions that could block the sensor's view or cause false triggers (e.g., swaying branches, large moving objects).

8. Troubleshooting
