3. Product Overview

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Tapo C220 camera:

  1. Download the Tapo App: Search for 'Tapo' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install the application on your mobile device.
  2. Power On: Connect the provided DC power adapter to the camera and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the LED indicator to flash red and green.
  3. Add Device: Open the Tapo app, log in or create a TP-Link ID. Tap the '+' icon to add a new device and select your Tapo C220 model. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  4. Mounting (Optional): The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a wall or ceiling using the included mounting kit. Use the mounting template to mark drill holes, then secure the camera base with screws and attach the camera.

5. Operation

Once set up, you can control and monitor your Tapo C220 camera through the Tapo app:

  • Live View: Access the live video feed from your camera anytime, anywhere.
  • Pan/Tilt Control: Use the directional controls in the app to remotely rotate the camera 360° horizontally and 114° vertically, allowing you to view different areas of the room.
  • Two-Way Audio: Tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's built-in speaker, or listen to audio from the camera's microphone.
  • Recording: Record video clips manually or set up continuous recording to a microSD card (up to 512GB, sold separately) or subscribe to Tapo Care for cloud storage.
  • Privacy Mode: Activate privacy mode via the app to physically close the camera lens, ensuring your privacy when needed.
