7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.

7.1. Dust Bag Replacement

The Hoover HE321PAF uses a 4-liter dust bag. Replace the dust bag when the 'bag full' indicator illuminates or when suction power noticeably decreases.

  1. Ensure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Open the dust bag compartment cover (usually located at the front or top of the unit).
  3. Grasp the integrated handle of the dust bag and press the push-button for contactless removal. Carefully pull the full dust bag out of its holder.
  4. Dispose of the full dust bag in a waste bin.
  5. Insert a new Hoover compatible dust bag into the holder, ensuring it is fully seated.
  6. Close the dust bag compartment cover securely until it clicks.

7.2. Filter Maintenance

Your vacuum cleaner is equipped with an EPA filter, which helps trap fine dust particles. Regular cleaning or replacement of filters is crucial for maintaining suction power and air quality.

  1. Pre-Motor Filter: This filter protects the motor and is usually located near the dust bag compartment. Check it regularly and tap out loose dirt. If washable, rinse under cold running water and allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
  2. Exhaust (EPA) Filter: This filter is typically located at the rear of the vacuum cleaner. Check it periodically. If it appears heavily soiled or discolored, it may need to be replaced. Refer to your specific model's instructions for cleaning or replacement frequency.
  3. Always ensure filters are completely dry before reassembling the vacuum cleaner.

7.3. General Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the vacuum cleaner with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Periodically check the brushes for tangled hair or debris and remove them to ensure effective cleaning.
  • Inspect the hose and telescopic tube for any blockages.
