4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Microphone

The microphone comes with an integrated mount compatible with standard 5/8-inch screw threads, allowing it to be easily attached to most microphone stands or boom arms.

  • Align the microphone's mount with the screw thread on your microphone stand or boom arm.
  • Rotate the microphone clockwise until it is securely fastened.
  • Adjust the angle of the microphone as needed for optimal positioning.

4.2 Connecting via USB

For direct connection to a computer (Laptop, PC, MacOS) or gaming console (PS4/PS5), use the provided USB cable.

  • Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the USB port on the back of the microphone.
  • Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer or console.
  • The microphone is plug-and-play and should be automatically recognized by your device.
  • Select the IXTECH microphone as your input device in your system's sound settings or recording software.

4.3 Connecting via XLR

For professional audio setups, connect the microphone to an audio interface or mixer using the provided XLR cable.

  • Connect one end of the XLR cable to the XLR port on the back of the microphone.
  • Connect the other end of the XLR cable to an available XLR input on your audio interface or mixer.
  • Ensure your audio interface or mixer is properly configured and provides phantom power if required by your setup (though this is a dynamic mic, some interfaces may require specific settings).
  • Adjust gain levels on your audio interface/mixer for optimal sound input.

5. Operating Instructions

The IXTECH microphone features easy-to-use controls located on its body.

5.1 Volume Controls

  • Volume Up (+): Press the '+' button to increase the microphone's output volume or headphone monitoring volume.
  • Volume Down (-): Press the '-' button to decrease the microphone's output volume or headphone monitoring volume.
  • Switch Volume Control: Long press the dedicated button (often indicated by a headphone/microphone icon) to toggle volume control between the microphone's output and the headphone monitoring output.

5.2 Mute Function

  • Mute/Unmute Button: Press the mute button (often indicated by a microphone icon with a line through it) to instantly mute or unmute the microphone. An indicator light (e.g., red for mute, blue for unmute) will typically show the microphone's status.

5.3 Headphone Monitoring

The microphone includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for direct, real-time monitoring of your audio.

  • Plug your headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the back of the microphone.
  • Adjust the headphone volume using the microphone's volume controls (after switching to headphone volume control mode if necessary).

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the microphone body.
  • For the mic cover, gently remove it and clean with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the microphone's finish or internal components.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the microphone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If not in use for an extended period, disconnect all cables and store the microphone in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.
