Installation Instructions

This section outlines the general steps for replacing the power switch. Specific disassembly procedures may vary slightly between clipper models. Refer to your clipper's original service manual if available.

  1. Prepare the Clipper: Ensure the hair clipper is unplugged from any power source. Place it on a clean, flat, and well-lit surface.
  2. Disassemble the Clipper Casing: Carefully remove the screws holding the clipper's outer casing together. These are typically located on the back or sides of the clipper. Keep track of all screws.
  3. Locate the Old Power Switch: Once the casing is open, identify the existing power switch. It will be connected to the internal wiring.
  4. Disconnect the Old Switch: Gently disconnect the wires from the old power switch. Note their positions or take a photo before disconnecting to ensure correct re-connection.
  5. Remove the Old Switch: Carefully remove the old power switch from its housing. It may be held in place by clips or small screws.
  6. Install the New Power Switch: Position the BestRec replacement power switch into the housing. Ensure it fits securely.
  7. Connect the Wires: Reconnect the wires to the new power switch, matching them to the positions noted earlier. Ensure connections are firm.
  8. Test Functionality (Before Reassembly): Briefly plug in the clipper (with extreme caution, avoiding contact with internal components) and test the new switch to ensure it turns the clipper on and off correctly. Immediately unplug after testing.
  9. Reassemble the Clipper Casing: Carefully re-align the clipper casing and secure it with the screws removed in step 2. Do not overtighten.
  10. Final Test: Plug in the fully reassembled clipper and perform a final functional test.

    • Verify that all wires are securely connected to the new power switch and in the correct orientation.
    • Check for any loose connections or damaged wires within the clipper.
  • Switch feels loose or does not engage:
    • Ensure the new power switch is correctly seated in its housing and any clips or screws are properly secured.
