Power Supply
Your Mersoco T201 offers two convenient power options:
1. Using AA Batteries
For portable use, the device can be powered by two (2) AA batteries (not included).
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Slide the battery compartment cover open.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Using DC 5V Power Supply
For continuous operation, you can use the included USB to DC cable with a 5V adapter (not included).
- Connect the small end of the USB to DC cable to the DC 5V input port on the side of the cassette player.
- Connect the USB end of the cable to a 5V USB power adapter (e.g., a smartphone charger) or a computer USB port.
- Plug the 5V adapter into a wall outlet.

Cassette Playback
Follow these steps to play your cassette tapes:
- Ensure the device is powered on using either batteries or DC power.
- Press the "OPEN" button to open the cassette compartment door.
- Insert a cassette tape with the exposed tape side facing upwards.
- Close the cassette compartment door firmly until it clicks.
- Slide the function switch to "TAPE" mode.
- Press the "PLAY" button to start playback.
- Adjust the volume using the "VOL" dial.
- To stop playback, press the "STOP" button.
- Use "FWD" for fast forward and "REW" for rewind.

Using Headphones:
For private listening, connect the included 3.5mm earphones to the "PHONES" jack on the side of the device. The built-in speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

AM/FM Radio Operation
Your Mersoco T201 features a built-in antenna for clear radio reception.
- Slide the function switch to "RADIO" mode.
- Select either "FM" or "AM" using the band switch.
- Rotate the "TUNING" dial to search for radio stations.
- Adjust the volume using the "VOL" dial.

Recording Function
The Mersoco T201 allows you to record audio from the built-in microphone or AM/FM radio to a blank cassette tape.
Recording from Built-in Microphone:
- Insert a blank cassette tape into the compartment (refer to Cassette Playback section).
- Slide the function switch to "TAPE" mode.
- Press the "RECORD" button (red button) simultaneously with the "PLAY" button to begin recording. The red indicator light will illuminate.
- Speak into the built-in microphone (MIC) located on the device.
- To stop recording, press the "STOP" button.
- To play back your recording, rewind the tape and press "PLAY".
Voice Activation System (VAS):
The VAS feature allows the recorder to automatically start recording when sound is detected and pause when there is no sound.
- Ensure a blank tape is inserted.
- Slide the "VAS" switch to the "ON" position.
- Press the "RECORD" button simultaneously with the "PLAY" button. The device will now record only when sound is present.
- To disable VAS, slide the "VAS" switch to "OFF".
