This manual provides essential information for the proper assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new tortoise habitat. Safety Instructions

• Always assemble the habitat on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping.
• Keep all small parts and packaging materials away from children and pets during assembly.
• Ensure all screws and fasteners are securely tightened before placing your tortoise inside. Periodically check for loose connections.
• Do not overload the bottom storage shelf.
• Position the habitat in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or high humidity, as specified in the care instructions.

Assembly Instructions

Assembly is required for this product. It is recommended that two people assemble the habitat. Please follow the steps carefully. While some parts may be similar, ensure you use the correct components as indicated in the diagrams.

1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Lay out all components and hardware. Refer to the included parts list and diagrams to identify each piece.
2. Assemble the Main Frame: Connect the side panels and support beams to form the base structure of the habitat. Secure with the provided screws.
3. Install the Main House: Attach the main house structure to the designated area of the frame. Ensure the roof and walls are securely fastened.
4. Assemble the Run Box: Construct the run box section, including the wire mesh top and the clear acrylic viewing window. Attach it to the main frame adjacent to the main house.
5. Insert the Divider and Tray: Place the divider between the main house and the run box. Slide the fixed plastic tray into its designated slot beneath the main living areas.
6. Attach the Adjustable Lamp Holder: Secure the adjustable lamp holder to the side of the habitat frame. Ensure it is stable and can be adjusted as needed.
7. Install the Bottom Storage Shelf: Attach the slatted bottom shelf to the lower section of the frame. This provides convenient storage space.
8. Final Inspection: Double-check all connections to ensure they are tight and secure. The habitat should be stable and ready for use.

Operating Instructions

The PawHut Tortoise Habitat is designed for ease of use and optimal pet comfort.

• Dual-Level Design: The habitat features a main house for shelter and a run box for exploration. Your tortoise can move freely between these two areas via the internal ramp.
• Adjustable Lamp Holder: Use the integrated lamp holder to provide necessary heat and UV lighting for your tortoise. Adjust the height and angle of the lamp to create the ideal basking spot and temperature gradient within the enclosure.
• Openable Top: The top sections of both the main house and the run box can be opened for easy access, allowing for feeding, petting, and cleaning. Secure the latches when closed to prevent escape.
• Viewing Window: The clear acrylic window on the run box allows for easy observation of your tortoise without disturbing them.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure a healthy environment for your tortoise and prolong the life of the habitat.

• Daily Cleaning: Remove any uneaten food, waste, and soiled substrate daily.
• Removable Main House: The main house can be easily removed, simplifying the cleaning process of the underlying area.
• Fixed Plastic Tray: The attached plastic tray is designed to prevent water and sand leakage, making it easy to wipe clean.
• Deep Cleaning: Periodically, remove all substrate and thoroughly clean the entire habitat with a pet-safe disinfectant. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before adding fresh substrate and returning your tortoise.
• Material Care: The habitat is constructed from wood, alloy steel, and acrylic. Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Dry Environment: Always keep the habitat in a dry place to prevent wood damage and mold growth.
