5. Installation Instructions
No power tools are required for assembly. All necessary tools are included.
- Prepare the Toilet: Carefully remove your existing toilet seat by unscrewing the bolts at the back of the toilet bowl. Keep the original bolts and washers, as they may be reused.
- Position the Stabilizing Plate: Place the Lunderg stabilizing plate over the toilet bolt holes at the back of the toilet bowl. Ensure it sits flat and is properly aligned.
- Reattach Toilet Seat: Place your original toilet seat back onto the toilet, aligning its holes with the stabilizing plate and the toilet bowl holes.
- Secure with Pins: Insert the provided screw-in pins through the toilet seat, the stabilizing plate, and into the toilet bowl holes. Tighten them securely using the included tools until the entire assembly is firm and wobble-free.
- Attach Vertical Support Posts: Slide the vertical support posts onto the designated slots on the stabilizing plate.
- Attach Handrails: Insert the adjustable handrails into the top of the vertical support posts.
- Adjust Height: Adjust the height of the handrails to your preferred level (see Section 6).
- Final Check: Gently test the stability of the installed rails before full use. Ensure all connections are tight and the unit does not wobble.

6. Operation
Adjusting Handrail Height:
The handrails feature an adjustable height mechanism, ranging from 8.6 inches to 11.8 inches. To adjust, locate the adjustment knob on each vertical support post. Loosen the knob, slide the handrail to the desired height, and then securely tighten the knob to lock it in place. Ensure both handrails are adjusted to the same height for balanced support.

7. Care and Maintenance
The Lunderg Toilet Safety Rails are designed for easy cleaning due to their legless design, which prevents accumulation of dirt and debris on the floor.
- Clean the carbon steel frame and wood-finish handrails with a mild soap and water solution.
- Wipe dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots and maintain the finish.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish or material.
- Regularly check the tightness of all fasteners to ensure continued stability.

8. Troubleshooting
Rails Feel Unstable:
- Ensure all screw-in pins securing the stabilizing plate and toilet seat are fully tightened.
- Verify that the vertical support posts and handrails are correctly seated and their adjustment knobs are tightened.
- Confirm that your toilet is compatible with the safety rails (refer to Section 3). Incompatibility can lead to instability.
Handrails Do Not Adjust Smoothly:
- Loosen the adjustment knob completely before attempting to slide the handrail.
- Check for any obstructions or debris within the adjustment mechanism.
