4. Setup

Proper setup is crucial for the safe and effective operation of your air compressor.

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully remove the compressor from its packaging.
  • Inspect the unit for any signs of shipping damage. Report any damage to the carrier immediately.
  • Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.

4.2 Placement and Mounting

  • Position the compressor on a firm, level surface capable of supporting its weight.

  • Locate the oil fill plug/dipstick on the compressor pump.
  • Add compressor oil until the level reaches the indicated mark on the dipstick or sight glass. Do not overfill.

4.4 Fueling the Engine

  • Ensure the engine is off and cool before adding gasoline.
  • Use fresh, unleaded gasoline. Refer to the engine manual for specific fuel requirements.
  • Fill the fuel tank, being careful not to overfill. Secure the fuel cap tightly.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your air compressor.

5.1 Pre-Operation Checklist

  • Check engine oil level.
  • Check compressor pump oil level.
  • Ensure fuel tank is adequately filled.
  • Inspect air filter for cleanliness.
  • Verify all connections are secure and there are no visible leaks.
  • Ensure the belt guard is properly installed.

5.2 Starting the Engine

  • Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position.

5.3 Building Air Pressure

  • Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes.
  • The compressor will begin to build pressure in the tank. Monitor the pressure gauge.
  • The engine will automatically idle down or shut off once the maximum pressure is reached, depending on the model's pressure switch settings.

5.4 Using Compressed Air

  • Connect your air tool or hose to the air outlet.

  • When air pressure drops below the cut-in pressure, the engine will automatically restart to replenish the tank.
