Unpacking:

  2. Remove any protective film or stickers.
  3. Retain packaging for future storage or shipping.

Initial Cleaning:

  1. Wash the egg tray, measuring cup, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  2. Wipe the heating plate and exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water.

Assembly:

  1. Place the egg cooker base unit on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Ensure the unit is unplugged before adding water or eggs.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to cook perfect eggs:

  1. Add Water: Use the provided measuring cup to add the appropriate amount of water to the heating plate. The measuring cup has markings for soft, medium, and hard-boiled eggs. Adjust water level based on desired egg consistency.
  2. Pierce Eggs: Carefully use the egg piercer located at the bottom of the measuring cup to make a small hole in the larger end of each egg. This prevents cracking during cooking.
  3. Place Eggs: Position the eggs on the egg tray with the pierced end facing upwards. The tray can hold up to 6 eggs.
  4. Cover: Place the vented lid securely over the egg tray and base unit.
  5. Start Cooking: Plug the appliance into a standard electrical outlet. Press the On/Off button to start the cooking cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Auto Shut-Off: The egg cooker will automatically turn off when all the water has evaporated, indicating the eggs are cooked. The indicator light will turn off.
  7. Cool Down: Carefully remove the lid (use oven mitts as steam will be hot) and the egg tray. For easier peeling and to stop the cooking process, immediately transfer the cooked eggs to a bowl of cold or ice water.

Achieving Desired Egg Consistency:

The amount of water determines the egg's doneness. Refer to the markings on the measuring cup for guidance:

  • Soft Boiled: Use the "Soft" marking on the measuring cup for creamy, runny yolks.
  • Medium Boiled: Use the "Medium" marking for fully set whites with a partially set, thick, and creamy center.
  • Hard Boiled: Use the "Hard" marking for fully cooked eggs with a firm, crumbly texture.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Daily Cleaning:

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wash the egg tray, measuring cup, and lid in warm, soapy water. These parts are top-rack dishwasher safe.
  3. Wipe the heating plate and exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains on the heating plate, use a non-abrasive sponge with a small amount of dish soap.
  4. Dry all parts thoroughly before storing or next use.

Descaling (Mineral Deposits):

Over time, mineral deposits from water may accumulate on the heating plate. To remove these:

  1. Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool.
  2. Pour 1/4 cup of white vinegar onto the heating plate.
  3. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, or longer for heavy deposits.
  4. Gently scrub the heating plate with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
  5. Pour out the vinegar and wipe the plate clean with a damp cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  6. Using distilled water for cooking can minimize mineral buildup.
