1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Bailigo 12V DC Split Air Conditioner. 4. Setup & Installation

The installation process involves mounting both the internal and external units, connecting the refrigerant pipes, electrical wiring, and charging the refrigerant. Professional installation is recommended.

4.1. External Unit Installation

1. Select an appropriate installation position on the exterior of the vehicle, ensuring sufficient clearance for airflow and maintenance.
2. Mark the drilling points for mounting the external unit.
3. Drill holes at the marked positions.
4. Install pull rivet nuts into the drilled holes for secure mounting.
5. Attach damping pads and sleeves to the external unit's mounting points.
6. Mount the external unit securely to the vehicle using appropriate fasteners.

4.2. Internal Unit Installation

1. Select a suitable location inside the cabin for the internal unit, ensuring proper air distribution.
2. Fix the internal machine mounting plate to the chosen location.
3. Install the internal unit onto the mounting plate.
4. Install the expansion valve onto the internal unit.

4.3. Connecting Pipes and Wiring

1. Open a 50mm connection hole between the internal and external units for pipes and wires.
2. Connect the 5/8 inch low-pressure pipe to the compressor on the external unit.
3. Connect the 3/8 inch high-pressure pipe to the condenser on the external unit.
4. Pass the pipes and wires through the connection hole and fix the rubber sleeve for protection.
5. Connect the internal and external pipes to the evaporation box of the internal unit.
6. Connect the internal and external machine wires and the power cord.
7. Install the drainage pipe from the internal unit.
8. Secure all connecting pipes and wires with winding tape.

4.4. Refrigerant Charging (R134a)

This step requires specialized tools and knowledge. It is highly recommended to have a certified technician perform refrigerant charging.

1. Connect the refrigerant filling gauge to the high and low pressure ports of the air conditioning system.
2. Connect the filling pipe to a vacuum pump.
3. Vacuum the system for 15-20 minutes to remove all air and moisture.
4. Connect the filling pipe to the refrigerant bottle opener and pierce the R134a refrigerant bottle (650g-700g).
5. Exhaust air from the refrigerant filling gauge drain valve.
6. Open the valve of the refrigerant filling gauge to allow refrigerant into the system.
7. If the system cannot be fully charged, connect the power supply to the unit and turn on the air conditioning cooling function.
8. Continue adding refrigerant until the pressure gauges indicate optimal levels. Remember to turn off the high-pressure valve to prevent the refrigerant bottle from exploding.
9. After charging, unplug the high and low pressure connectors of the refrigerant filling meter and install the outer shell.
