Setup and Installation
This pendant light is designed for ceiling mount installation. Professional installation is recommended.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Screwdriver (Phillips and/or Flathead)
- Wire Strippers
- Pliers
- Electrical Tape
- Ladder
- Voltage Tester
Installation Steps:
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and turn off the power to the junction box where the fixture will be installed. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Prepare Mounting Plate: Attach the mounting plate (included in hardware kit) to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Adjust Chain Length: Determine the desired hanging height for your pendant. Adjust the length of the forged iron chain by removing or adding links as necessary. Secure the chain to the canopy and the fixture.
- Make Electrical Connections: Carefully connect the fixture's wires to the corresponding wires from the junction box.
- Connect the black (hot) wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the white (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the junction box and to the mounting plate.
- Secure Canopy: Carefully push the canopy up against the ceiling, covering the junction box and wiring. Secure it to the mounting plate using the provided screws.
- Install Bulb: Insert one compatible bulb (Compact Fluorescent or Incandescent, max 15 watts) into the fixture's socket. (Bulb not included).
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the light fixture.
Operating Instructions
The Troy Lighting Bayu F2616 Pendant Light operates via a standard wall switch connected to the circuit. Simply toggle the wall switch to turn the light on or off.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Wipe the metal components with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- For the paper shade, use a soft, dry brush or a feather duster to gently remove dust. Avoid moisture or liquid cleaners, as they can damage the paper.
Bulb Replacement:
- Turn off power to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
- Allow the old bulb to cool completely before touching it.
- Carefully unscrew the old bulb and dispose of it properly.
- Screw in a new compatible bulb (Compact Fluorescent or Incandescent, max 15 watts).
- Restore power and test the light.
