Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Placement: Place the spot welder unit on a stable, level, and non-flammable surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for air circulation.
- Connect Welding Gun: Connect the welding gun cable to the designated port on the front panel of the spot welder. Ensure a secure connection.
- Connect Pedal Switch: Plug the pedal switch cable into its corresponding port on the front panel.
- Connect Power Cord: Ensure the welder's power switch is in the "OFF" position. Connect the power cord to the welder's power input, then plug the other end into a grounded 110V power outlet.
- Prepare Workpiece: Ensure the workpiece is clean and free of grease, dirt, or oxidation for optimal welding results.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the front panel to the "ON" position. The indicator light should illuminate.
- Adjust Output Power:
- The welder features 9 levels of output power.
- Use the "Coarse Tune" knob for significant adjustments to the welding power.
- Use the "Micro Tune" knob for fine-tuning the power to achieve the desired weld quality for different materials and thicknesses.
- Start with lower power settings and gradually increase until the desired weld is achieved. Test on scrap material first.
- Position Workpiece: Use tweezers or a suitable fixture to hold the jewelry or workpiece securely. Place the welding point on the material.
- Perform Weld:
- Position the tip of the welding gun precisely on the desired welding spot.
- While wearing appropriate eye protection, gently press the pedal switch. A spark will occur, and the weld will be completed almost instantly.
- Release the pedal switch immediately after the weld.
- Inspect Weld: Carefully inspect the welded joint. Adjust power settings as needed for stronger or cleaner welds. The welding point diameter range is 0.5-1.5mm (0.01-0.05 inches).
- Cool Down: Allow the welded material to cool before handling with bare hands.
- Power Off: When finished, turn the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
Tip: Practice on scrap pieces of similar material to fine-tune your power settings and technique before working on valuable items.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the welder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Electrode Care: Ensure the welding gun electrode tip is clean and sharp. Replace if it becomes excessively worn or damaged.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all cables (power, welding gun, pedal switch) for cuts, fraying, or damage. Replace any damaged cables immediately.
- Ventilation: Keep the ventilation grilles on the welder unit clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Storage: Store the welder in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, when not in use. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
