Image 6.3: Illustration of airflow in summer and winter modes.

  • Summer Mode (Downward Airflow): Blades rotate counter-clockwise, creating a downward breeze that provides a cooling effect. This can reduce perceived temperature by up to 6°C.
  • Winter Mode (Upward Airflow): Blades rotate clockwise, drawing cool air up and pushing warm air (which rises) down along the walls. This redistributes heated air, optimizing heating efficiency and potentially reducing energy consumption.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: Dust the fan blades and motor housing periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the fan is turned off and power is disconnected before cleaning.
  • Blade Inspection: Check the blades for any signs of damage or warping. Replace damaged blades immediately.
  • Tighten Screws: Periodically check and tighten all screws on the fan assembly and mounting bracket to prevent wobbling or noise.
  • No Lubrication Needed: The DC motor is permanently lubricated and does not require additional oiling.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your FORLIGHT Nere Ceiling Fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Fan Does Not Start:
    • Check if the power supply is connected and the circuit breaker is ON.
