The opt! OPT90 is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed with a retro cassette tape aesthetic. It offers modern connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and supports audio playback from microSD cards. Its compact and lightweight design makes it ideal for on-the-go use, and the included case conveniently functions as a stand. This product is TELEC certified (R219-239467).

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

1. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the speaker (Figure 4.4).
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (5V⎓1A recommended, not included) or a computer's USB port.
3. The indicator light will illuminate during charging. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.
4. Once fully charged, the indicator light may change color or turn off. Disconnect the charging cable.

5.2 Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the Play/Pause button (Figure 4.3) for approximately 3 seconds until you hear an audible cue or see the indicator light activate.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the Play/Pause button for approximately 3 seconds until you hear an audible cue or the indicator light turns off.

Note: Some units may automatically power on when connected to a power source or when a microSD card is inserted.

5.3 Bluetooth Pairing

1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and within close proximity (within 10 meters) of your Bluetooth device.
2. The speaker will automatically enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing indicator light or an audible prompt.
3. On your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled device, navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
4. Search for available devices and select "OPT90" from the list.
5. Once connected, the speaker will provide an audible confirmation, and the indicator light will typically become solid.

5.4 Using a microSD Card

1. Ensure the speaker is powered off.
2. Insert a microSD card (pre-loaded with MP3 audio files) into the microSD card slot (Figure 4.2) until it clicks into place.
3. Power on the speaker. It should automatically detect the microSD card and begin playing audio.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Playback Controls (Bluetooth & microSD Modes)

• Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button once to play or pause audio.
• Volume Up: Short press the "+" button to increase volume.
• Volume Down: Short press the "-" button to decrease volume.
• Next Track: Long press the "+" button to skip to the next track.
• Previous Track: Long press the "-" button to go to the previous track.

6.2 Switching Playback Modes

The speaker automatically prioritizes playback from a microSD card if inserted. If no microSD card is present, it will default to Bluetooth mode. There is no manual mode switching button.

6.3 Sound Profile Adjustment with Case Lid

The OPT90 speaker is designed to offer a unique audio experience where closing the dedicated case lid can subtly alter the sound quality. Experiment with playing music with the lid open and closed to discover your preferred sound profile.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker's surface. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or solvents.
• Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
• Avoid Water: This product is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or other liquids.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 No Power / Speaker Not Turning On

• Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the USB Type-C cable and allow it to charge for at least 15 minutes before attempting to power on.
• Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 3-5 seconds to ensure it's not just a short press.

8.2 No Sound or Low Volume

• Increase the volume on both the speaker (using the "+" button) and your connected Bluetooth device.
• Ensure the speaker is properly connected via Bluetooth or that the microSD card is correctly inserted and contains playable audio files.
• If using Bluetooth, try disconnecting and re-pairing the device.

8.3 Bluetooth Connection Issues

• Ensure the speaker is in pairing mode (indicator light flashing).
• Make sure your Bluetooth device's Bluetooth function is enabled and it is discoverable.
• Move the speaker closer to your Bluetooth device (within 10 meters) and away from potential interference sources (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other wireless devices).
• Try forgetting "OPT90" from your device's Bluetooth list and re-pairing.

8.4 Unexpectedly High Volume on Connection

• Some devices may default to a high volume upon initial connection. Be prepared to immediately adjust the volume using the "-" button on the speaker or your connected device after establishing a connection.

8.5 Sound Quality Characteristics

The OPT90 speaker is designed to evoke a retro audio experience. Its sound profile may differ from modern speakers optimized for high fidelity. This is an intentional characteristic of the product's design. Experiment with the case lid (Section 6.3) to find a sound profile that suits your preference.

10.1 Product Warranty

This product comes with a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase. Please retain your proof of purchase and the warranty card included in the package. The warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.
