Setup and Installation
- Inspect the Unit: Before installation, ensure the Ortis Surge Protector and its cables are free from any visible damage.
- Prepare the Outlet: Verify that the wall outlet is in good condition and provides stable 120VAC power.
- Plug in the Protector: Insert the plug of the Ortis Surge Protector into a standard 120VAC wall outlet. The unit will automatically begin charging its internal battery.
- Connect Appliance: Plug your refrigerator, freezer, or other appliance into the outlet on the Ortis Surge Protector.
- Mounting (Optional): The unit is designed to be mountable. You can use screws to secure it to a wall near the outlet for a more permanent installation. Alternatively, it can be placed on a flat surface.
Warning: Always ensure the wall outlet and appliance plug are in good condition before connecting the device.

Operating Instructions
Once plugged in, the Ortis Surge Protector will automatically begin monitoring the voltage. The LED indicator lights provide real-time status updates.
LED Indicator Lights:
- High Voltage (>135VAC): Indicates that the incoming voltage is too high. The unit will cut power to the appliance to prevent damage.
- Low Voltage (<90VAC): Indicates that the incoming voltage is too low. The unit will cut power to the appliance.
- Normal Voltage: Illuminates when the voltage is within the safe operating range (90VAC-135VAC).
- Delay Period (3 minutes): After a power interruption or voltage abnormality, the unit will enter a 3-minute delay before restoring power. This protects compressors in appliances like refrigerators from rapid cycling.
- Charging: Indicates the internal battery is charging. The battery automatically charges when the unit is plugged into a live outlet.
- Alarm: Illuminates and the 110dB alarm sounds during a power failure or significant voltage issue.
Alarm Function:
In the event of a power failure or critical voltage abnormality, the unit will activate its 110dB alarm and flash the alarm light. This alerts you to the issue, allowing you to take necessary action, such as salvaging perishable goods from a refrigerator.
Mute Button:
Press the 'R' (Reset/Mute) button on the unit to silence the alarm. The alarm will remain muted until the power is restored or the issue is resolved. If the power is restored, the unit will go through its 3-minute delay period before re-energizing the appliance.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Battery: The built-in lithium battery is designed for long life and automatically recharges when the unit is plugged in. No user maintenance is required for the battery.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is fully charged and store it in a cool, dry place.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the unit and its cords for any signs of wear or damage. If damage is found, discontinue use and contact customer support.
Troubleshooting
