Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare Components: Unpack all items and identify the front and rear cross bars, mounting bases, and hardware. Note that the length of the front and rear bars is the same.
  2. Attach Mounting Bases: Slide the mounting bases onto the ends of each cross bar. Ensure they are correctly oriented. Insert the screws but do not tighten them fully at this stage to allow for length adjustment.
  3. Adjust Length: The cross bars are length adjustable. Unlock and open the lid on the mounting bases to access the adjustment mechanism. Adjust the length to fit your vehicle's roof track.
  4. Apply Sponge Pads: Measure the distance of the track on the back of the crossbar. Cut the provided sponge pads to the corresponding length and stick them at the track accordingly. This sealing helps effectively reduce wind noise.
  5. Mount to Vehicle: Carefully place the assembled cross bars onto your vehicle's roof gutters. Ensure proper alignment.
  6. Secure Cross Bars: Once positioned correctly, tighten all screws on the mounting bases using the provided Allen wrench. Ensure a snug and secure fit.
  7. Engage Anti-Theft Lock: Use the metal key to lock the anti-theft mechanism on each mounting base. This secures the cross bars to your vehicle and prevents unauthorized removal.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your Wonderdriver Roof Rack Cross Bars.

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and mounting points for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary, especially after initial installation and before long trips.
  • Cleaning: Clean the cross bars with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: If the locking mechanism becomes stiff, apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the keyhole.
  • Storage: If removing the cross bars for extended periods, store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
