2. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your BENFEI 11-in-1 USB C Hub:

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Display Configuration
The BENFEI Hub supports various display configurations depending on your operating system.
Windows Operating Systems:
Windows supports Multi-Stream Transport (MST), allowing for extended or mirrored displays across multiple monitors. You can configure up to three external displays (2x HDMI, 1x VGA).
- Extend Mode: Each monitor can display independent content.
- Mirror Mode: All monitors display the same content.

Image 3.1: Examples of display configurations for Windows and macOS using the hub.
To configure displays in Windows:
- Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings."
- Identify your monitors (click "Identify" if needed).
- Select a monitor and choose its display mode (Extend these displays, Duplicate these displays, Show only on 1/2/3).
- Adjust resolution and orientation as required.
macOS Operating Systems:
macOS does not support MST for extended displays across multiple external monitors. When connecting multiple external displays, macOS will typically mirror the content across them or extend only to one, mirroring the others. The maximum resolution supported is 1920x1080@60Hz for multiple displays.
To configure displays in macOS:
- Go to "System Settings" (or "System Preferences") > "Displays."
- Arrange displays by dragging them to your desired layout.
- Select a display to adjust its resolution and arrangement.
3.2. Data Transfer
The three USB 3.0 ports support data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. The SD and TF card readers support UHS-I mode with transfer rates up to 160MB/sec.

3.3. Network Connection
Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port for a stable wired network connection. The port supports 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet. For optimal performance (1Gbps), ensure you use CAT6 or higher Ethernet cables.
3.4. Audio Output
Plug your headphones or speakers into the 3.5mm AUX audio jack for audio output.
4. Maintenance
- Keep the hub in a dry environment and avoid exposure to liquids.
- Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device yourself.
- Clean the hub with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Ensure adequate airflow around the hub, especially during prolonged use, as it may generate some heat.
5. Troubleshooting
- No Video Output or Unstable Display:
- Ensure your host device's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode).
- Connect a power adapter to the hub's PD port. Insufficient power can cause video output issues, especially with smartphones, iPads, or multiple displays.
- Check all cable connections (USB-C to host, HDMI/VGA to monitors).
- Try a different HDMI or VGA cable.
- For macOS, remember that MST is not supported, so multiple external displays will typically mirror or extend to one.
- USB Devices Not Recognized:
- Ensure the hub is securely connected to your host device.
- If using power-intensive USB devices (e.g., external hard drives), connect a power adapter to the hub's PD port.
- Try connecting the USB device directly to your host device to rule out device issues.
- Ethernet Connection Issues:
- Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the hub and your router/modem.
- Check your network settings on your host device.
- Ensure your Ethernet cable is CAT6 or higher for optimal 1Gbps performance.
- SD/TF Card Not Detected:
- Ensure the card is fully inserted into the correct slot.
- Try the card in another device to check if the card itself is faulty.
- Hub Gets Warm During Use:
- It is normal for the hub to generate some heat during operation, especially when multiple ports are in use or when charging. Ensure it has adequate ventilation.
