Setup
1. Powering the Machine
- AC Adapter: Insert the jack-plug of the AC adapter into the DC Input port at the back of the machine. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
- Batteries: Alternatively, the machine can be powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Caution: Do not use both power modes simultaneously.
2. Connecting the Foot Pedal
For hands-free operation, connect the foot pedal:
- Insert the jack-plug of the foot pedal into the 'FOOT PEDAL' input port at the back of the machine.
- The foot pedal allows you to control the sewing speed by pressing down. Release to stop.
3. Threading the Upper Thread
Proper threading is crucial for correct stitching. Follow these steps carefully:
- Place a spool of thread on the thread spindle.
- Guide the thread through the thread guide bar to prevent tangling.
- Lift the presser foot lever and clamp the upper thread into the thread tension piece.
- Rotate the handwheel counter-clockwise to raise the lifting rod, and pass the thread through it.
- Pass the thread through the thread guide loop to keep it in position.
- Insert the thread from front to back through the needle eye. DO NOT THREAD IT FROM BACK TO FRONT.
- Leave about 10 cm (4 inches) of thread hanging; if it's too short, gently pull more from the spool.

4. Replacing and Winding the Bottom Bobbin
To replace or wind the bottom bobbin:
- Slide the bobbin cover off and remove the empty bobbin.
- Put the new bobbin in the holder with the thread going clockwise.
- Hold the needle thread with your left hand and turn the handwheel counter-clockwise only one round. The needle thread will pick up the bobbin thread.
- Pull the bobbin thread up through the hole under the needle.
- Separate the two threads (upper and lower) and pull them to the back of the machine under the presser foot, leaving about 15 cm hanging out.
- Restore the bobbin cover.
To wind a new bobbin:
- First, take the top and bottom thread off the machine.
- Unwind some thread from a bigger spool and pull it around the bobbin winder tension disk.
- Put an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder pin. Put the thread through any one of the metal holes on the bobbin.
- Push the bobbin to the right (towards the hand wheel) to lock it.
- Hold onto the thread, turn the handwheel 5-6 rounds to wind the thread on the bobbin several circles.
- Cut the thread tail, then turn on the power switch to start winding. Use a scissor or pen to assist the winding for a more even result.
- When you have enough thread wound on, turn off the power switch to stop winding.
- Push the bobbin to the left (away from the hand wheel) and take the bobbin off.
Video: A comprehensive guide demonstrating how to thread the sewing machine, including instructions for both upper and lower bobbin threading, and how to wind a new bobbin.
5. Replacing the Needle
To replace a needle:
- Hold the old needle and loosen the needle clamp screw. Remove the needle and discard it responsibly.
- Insert the new needle into the clamp with the flat side of the needle toward the presser foot bar. Push the needle all the way up.
- Then tighten the screw.
6. Replacing the Presser Foot
To replace the presser foot:
- Turn the handwheel counter-clockwise to raise the needle to its highest position.
- Raise the presser foot lifter and press the presser foot locking lever. The presser foot will drop off automatically from the locking device.
- Put the desired presser foot under the presser foot locking device.
- Lower the presser foot lifter. The presser foot will engage automatically.
- Caution: If the foot has not been picked up, check to make sure the cut-out is directly above the pin of the foot and repeat the steps.

Operating Instructions
1. Stitch Selection
Your machine offers 12 built-in stitch patterns. To select a stitch:
- Turn the Stitch Selection Button (dial) to the corresponding number for your desired stitch.
- Patterns include adjustable stitch lengths (1-4), decorative patterns (5/6), lockstitch patterns (7/8), and curved stitches (9-12).

2. Adjusting Thread Tension
Adjust the upper thread tension dial to achieve balanced stitches. A higher number means tighter tension, a lower number means looser. Incorrect tension can lead to looping or thread breakage.

3. Sewing Speed Control
Use the OFF/L/H switch on the side of the machine to select your desired sewing speed:
- OFF: Machine is off.
- L (Low): Slower speed, ideal for beginners or intricate work.
- H (High): Faster speed for general sewing.
If using the foot pedal, the speed switch should be in the OFF position. The foot pedal will then control the speed.
4. Reverse Sewing
To reinforce your stitches at the beginning or end of a seam, press and hold the reverse sewing button while sewing. Release the button to resume forward stitching.
5. Using the LED Light and Thread Cutter
- LED Light: The built-in LED light illuminates the sewing area. Activate it using the dedicated switch.
- Thread Cutter: A convenient thread cutter is located on the machine for quick trimming of threads after sewing.

6. Sewing Different Fabrics
This machine is designed to handle various fabric types and can sew through up to 5 layers of denim. Always test on a scrap piece of your fabric to ensure optimal tension and stitch quality.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush.
- Needle Replacement: Replace needles frequently, especially when sewing different fabric types or if the needle becomes dull or bent.
- Storage: Store the machine in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, try these common troubleshooting steps:
- Skipped Stitches: Check if the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent. Ensure the machine is properly threaded.
- Thread Breakage: Verify that the thread tension is appropriate for your fabric. Check for burrs on the needle or bobbin case. Ensure the thread is not tangled.
- Fabric Not Moving: Ensure the presser foot is lowered. Check if the feed dogs are engaged.
- Machine Not Starting: Confirm the power adapter is securely plugged in or batteries are correctly installed. Check the OFF/L/H switch position.
- Noise: Excessive noise can indicate improper threading or a need for cleaning.
