5. Installation Guide
This section provides general guidance for installing the car radio. Due to variations in vehicle models and trim levels, some steps may differ. Professional installation is recommended.
5.1. Compatibility
This car radio is designed for Toyota Yaris models from 2012 to 2017.
5.2. Pre-Installation Steps
- Disconnect Battery: Before starting, disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
- Remove Old Head Unit: Carefully remove the existing car radio and dashboard trim. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on trim removal.
- Inspect Wiring: Examine the vehicle's existing wiring harness.
5.3. Wiring Connections
Connect the provided wiring harnesses to the car radio and the vehicle's corresponding connectors. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Power Cable: Connect the main power harness.
- USB Cables: Connect the USB extension cables for external devices.
- GPS Antenna: Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., dashboard corner) and connect it to the unit.

- AHD Camera: Install the AHD backup camera at the rear of the vehicle and route its cable to the head unit. Connect the camera's power to the reversing light circuit and the video signal to the camera input.

5.4. Mounting the Head Unit
- Carefully slide the new head unit into the dashboard opening.
- Secure the unit using the appropriate mounting brackets and screws.
- Reinstall the dashboard trim pieces, ensuring they snap securely into place.
- Reconnect the vehicle's battery negative terminal.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off and Basic Interface
To power on the unit, start your vehicle. The unit will typically boot automatically. To power off, turn off your vehicle's ignition. The main interface provides access to various applications and settings.
6.2. Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto Connection
- Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
- On the car radio, open the CarPlay or Android Auto application.
- Search for the car radio's Bluetooth name on your phone and pair.
- Confirm the pairing on both devices. CarPlay or Android Auto should launch automatically.
- For Mirror Link, follow the on-screen instructions within the Mirror Link application on the head unit.
6.3. GPS Navigation Usage
The unit comes with a pre-installed GPS navigation app. You can use it for both online and offline navigation.
- Online Maps: Connect to Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot to access real-time traffic and updated map data.
- Offline Maps: Download map data for your desired regions in advance via Wi-Fi to use navigation without an internet connection.
6.4. WiFi Setup

6.7. Backup Camera Display
When the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear, the car radio will automatically display the feed from the connected AHD backup camera, providing a wide-angle view with parking guidelines.
6.8. Steering Wheel Control (SWC) Configuration
- Go to 'Settings' on the car radio.
- Find the 'Steering Wheel Control' or 'SWC Learning' section.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to program each button on your steering wheel to the desired function on the car radio (e.g., volume up/down, track skip, answer call).

6.9. Split Screen Functionality
To use the split-screen feature, open an application, then drag another compatible application from the recent apps list to one side of the screen. This allows you to view and interact with two apps simultaneously, for example, navigation and music.
