5.3 Releasing the Arrow:
- Once at full draw and aiming at your target, slowly and smoothly apply pressure to the trigger with your index finger.
- Maintain a consistent follow-through after the shot.
- The automatic closing jaw will reset itself, ready for the next shot.
Important Safety Note: Always ensure the release jaw is securely attached to the D-loop before drawing the bow. Never dry-fire your bow with the release attached or unattached, as this can cause severe damage to the bow and potential injury.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your Mokernali Wrist Release.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the aluminum alloy components with a clean, dry cloth after each use to remove dirt and moisture. For the leather strap, use a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then allow it to air dry completely. Do not immerse the release in water.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of light machine oil or silicone lubricant to the pivot points of the jaw mechanism to ensure smooth operation. Avoid over-lubricating.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the wrist strap for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Check the screws on the wrist rod for tightness. Ensure the jaw mechanism opens and closes smoothly without sticking.
- Storage: Store the release in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
