4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your model kit.

4.1. Cleaning

  • Regularly dust your model using a soft brush or compressed air.
  • For fingerprints or smudges, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Be especially careful when cleaning parts with the Real Metallic Gloss Injection finish to prevent scratching.

4.2. Storage

  • Store the model in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent plastic degradation and color fading.
  • If storing for extended periods, consider a display case to protect against dust and accidental damage.

4.3. Handling

  • Handle the model by its larger, more robust sections. Avoid gripping small or delicate parts.
  • When posing, apply gentle, even pressure to joints. Do not force movement beyond its natural range.

5. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Loose Joints: If a joint feels too loose, you can apply a thin layer of clear nail polish or a specialized hobby joint-tightening solution to the peg and let it dry before reassembling.
  • Parts Not Fitting: Ensure you are using the correct parts for each step. If a part is too tight, carefully trim any excess plastic (nubs) with a hobby knife. Do not force parts together, as this can cause breakage.
  • Broken Parts: For minor breaks, plastic cement designed for model kits can be used. For significant damage, replacement parts may be available from the manufacturer or hobby retailers.
  • Stickers/Decals Not Adhering: Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Use tweezers for precise placement and a cotton swab to gently press down and remove air bubbles.
